âP-please- I canât- I canât!â
âWhat? You canât what?â
Whumpee shook their head frantically, struggling to breath.
âWhu- Oh! Oh no, okay, okay, I think youâre having a panic attack- oh my god, um, okay- Deep breaths, everythingâs gonna be okayâŠâ
Caretakerâs hands moved up, then down, unable to decide where they should go, what they should do. Whumpee hadnât had a panic attack in front of them before, and, hell, they were practically still strangers. What should they do?
âThink, dumbass, what are they scared of? Then, stop whatever it is, or get rid of it.â
They looked around, seeing nothing but the rest of the house, until⊠oh.
It wasnât what they saw. It was what they heard.
The downstairs neighbors had the football game on, god, Caretaker had drowned it out so much that they forgot it pretty much. But, the yellingâŠ
âHey- is it the guy downstairs? He yells at the TV, no oneâs mad at you, itâs okay, itâs okay-â
They move to hug them but then pause, then remember how desperately Whumpee had clung to them when they were rescued. They gently wrapped an arm around whumpees shoulder, careful to avoid putting any pressure on or near their chest, butâŠ
It was like it startled them enough to move, and they were instantly digging their fingers into Caretakers shoulders, clinging to them once again.
âHey, hey, itâs okay- Iâve got you,â Caretaker let their hands settle against whumpees back, rubbing gentle circles, âYouâre here, youâre safe, no one is upset, you donât have to do anything.â

mha boys as american high school teenage stereotypes
a/n this isn't an original idea, ik that, but this is just my take on it. also lowk just based off of ppl ik irl but also just really similar to the actual character. also these are really short n simple, my brain wasn't able to think any further
characters katsuki bakugou, shoto todoroki, izuku midoriya, eijiro kirishima, denki kaminari, hanta sero, tenya iida, hitoshi shinsho
masterlist
katsuki bakugou
not just saying this bc he's my fav
but quite literally the most popular person at school
like hes handsome, athletic, smart, rich, all of the above, no one could ever compare
everybody would have a crush on him (shit i would too)
or hate him
no in between
but he's still very intimidating so he doesn't have a lot of friends and has a heard time making em
not saying he's a playboy or anything
but definitely gets hella attention from girls
but he is more often than not uninterested
he would play football no doubt, run track/shot put during his off season to stay fit
not a douchebag but he totally comes off as one
shoto todoroki
he's the loser, the loner
actually jk, bc i really don't believe anyone is a loner
theres gotta be someone he talks too
hes that smart kid whos schedule is filled w ap n honors classes
and his only friends would be classmates that hes not super close w so they never talk outside of school (me lol)
hes rich rich
def plays tennis or golf, school and club
he's THE hallway crush
especially for like underclassmen
he just gives off that mysterious vibe that makes girls fall for him
not to mention he is sooooo pretty
like it's not a secret that he is attractive
but he's never had a gf or even a situationship in his life
idek
izuku midoriya
teachers pet 100% lol
not the smartest but also not dumb
like definitely top 20% of his class
i feel like he would take part in a lot of extracurriculars
he's not popular at all
but has a small group of close friends
so so sassy
like imagine arguing w him about a random subject
and you just start to piss him off
he just puts you on blast and starts embarrassing the hell out of you
making you feel hella stupid
he doesn't do it to be mean or anything
he's just a sassy lil guy idk
sassy man apocalypse!!
eijiro kirishima
social butterfly
friends with everyone
but not like a floater friend
but literally just everyones friend
like he's so genuine and is able to get along with everybody
sooo loyal
always has the best advice
definition of boyfriend material!!!
probably has had a long term gf
he takes his relationships n friendhsips so seriously
definitely plays multiple sports
idk i see him as a wrestler or even like gymnastics lol
lowk imagine him apart of the schools student council or leadership club
fully goes out for football games/friday night lights
denki kaminari
class clown fs
also lowk rlly flirty but has never had a gf or even come close
like such a ladies man
thats just part of his personality
most of his friends are girls but not in a weird way
he's the life of the party
lowk one of the only characters i can see myself having a smoke sesh w lol
big party goer
theres a house party being thrown
best believe he's there
he's not the brightest of the bunch
but he does try, its not like hes lazy
he's also so pretty
deff one of those guys w the longest eyelashes than any girl lol
lowk tennis player!denki?
also sorta see him as a swimmer/waterpolo
hanta sero
he is just so friendly
lowk a npc
but i still love him
he's so laid back and chill and has such a relaxed personality
like if you'd ever need to just have a calm night/hang out with one of your friends, he's the first person youd call
has had mulitple gfs, but def not a player
they just never seem to workout
would start a bs club with his friends so every other week they could just order a couple pizzas to school and hang out in the chill teachers class
idk i feel like hes kinda artsy
like he took art 1 his freshman year just for an easy a and schedule requirements, but he realized he was actually kinda creative
likes to doodle in class rather than pay attention now
lowk plays basketball
big car guy!!
tenya iida
THE honor student
number 1 in his class
5.0 gpa
student council persident all 4 years of high school
friend group is made up of all the other nerds who take 10+ ap classes
definitely got into multiple colleges before even applying
definitely not just saying this because of his quirk, but would lowk do track n xc
everything ive said so far i legit just his normal selfđđđ lemme try to get more specific
lowk imagine an iida where like outside of school he's lowk a partier
like imagine him getting blackout drunk every weekend but sobering up for school every week
and still being the best student in his grade
he's just so handsome
multiple girls have liked him but he's rejected them due to wanting to have his life set in place before thinking about romance
hitoshi shinso
he's so fucking emo just look at him
ok well not emo but just a little alternative
but yk in an american high school being a little alt means other people see you as full out gothic
so what if he's just a little quiet and broodingâčïžâčïž
again he's also smart
but he doesn't take all those honor classes
he wouldn't admit it but his favorite genre to watch is reality tv
best believe he was fully invested in season 6 of love island
#ppgbackontop
not an athletic guy
but was definitely forced to like play soccer or sum as a kid
works at your local comic/record store
all the emo girls that come in have a crush on him
thats all i gotđ«

Will you go to prom with me?
matt rempe x college!student reader, friends to lovers
warnings : the fluffiest fluff to have ever fluffed for 7.5k words
an : in honor of the rangers playing their game 1 of the 2nd round, iâve been writing this for the past week and omggggg there must be so many mistakes in it but im so happy with it itâs so cute. idk about the rangers wives and stuff so christine is obviously made up sorryyyy
How did you get so lucky ?
Matthew gave you a ticket for tonightâs game and made you promise to stay after the game to wait for him.
You have gone to see his debut at the stadium series and this was his second game so you would have gone to see him play even if he hadnât gotten you a ticket.
The two of you met when he was first invited to the Rangers summer camp. You were having a picnic with friends in Central Park on a hot summer evening. Matt was playing football with his friends not far from you and when the ball fell near you he ran up to get it.
The first time he just excused himself then went back to his game. But the second time his friend threw the ball your way intentionally you asked him if they wanted to eat something but you werenât going to finish all the food you brought by yourselves.
It took all your courage to ask the tall cute guy that question. Especially because he was cute. Your friends had teased you for blushing the first time he came to get his ball and to defend your dignity you had to show them he didnât affect you that much and you could be chill around tall attractive guys.
That improvised picnic turned into an ice cream date the next afternoon as you bonded over the fact that you were both foreigners in the US. Then that turned into another museum date, and a shopping date when he asked you for help to find his sister a present.
Superficial conversation turned into long conversations deep into the night so naturally.
Yet he had never tried to kiss you. You wanted to think those dates were really dates and that he felt the same way you did. But he never expressed any further interest into you so you settled for his friendship. You knew he would leave after the training camp to go back to Calgary and you would leave too to go back home.
When he came back for the second time for the training camp, you had already left New York. He had texted you that he was in town again and asked if you wanted to go get ice cream with him. You wanted to smash your head against a wall for leaving a week too early and missing him. But he promised that he would try to go to New York before the start of the season so you could catch up together.
After that first catch up in New York, you also went to Hartford for a weekend a few times when you didnât have too many assignments.
You surprised him once by coming to a practice and staying for his game. Some of your friends teased you that you were head over heels for him and you âreally wanted to get that dâ in the words of your best friend but you never made any attempt at flirting and neither did he.
However now, he played in New York, for the Rangers and you couldnât be any prouder of him. He had texted you that he was called up to play for them for the stadium series and you told him that you already got tickets with friends to go see the match. You missed your morning class to get breakfast with him before the game and congratulate him.
So you are now waiting awkwardly by the VIP entrance because he didnât get you a special pass since he didnât dare ask for it and you have no idea where the locker room is in this place. You check your phone from time to time to see if Matt has texted you but you just assume that heâs still busy.
At some point, a security guard approaches you and asks what youâre waiting for. Youâre about to answer him and you hear a voice answering in your stead.
âFor me. Sheâs waiting for me. But thanks for taking care of her.â Heâs always been kinda hot, but that sentence? The messy post game hair? The sweaty look and slightly tired eyes?
You thank the security guard and walk towards Matt with a big smile on your face. âCongrats on your second game and second win champ. Looks like youâre this teamâs lucky charm.â You give him a hug when you reach him and he keeps his arm around your shoulder not letting you go.
âHmm no I think itâs you. Youâve been for every win too.â He winks at you.
âWhen did you get this cheesy?â, you tease.
âWinning makes me emotional.â
You aww at his honest response and jokingly tickle him. But you love how heâs not afraid to show his emotions in front of you and you cherish that.
âSo.. we won⊠Do you know what that means?â, he asks with an amused look in his eyes.
âFree and good food?â, you inquire hopefully, batting your lashes at him to go overboard with it.
âBetter. Free drinks !! I wanted you to come celebrate with us. I got out the looker room as soon as I could to not make you wait and have some time to convince you. The guys are ready to go.â
âItâs a wednesday night.â
âPerfect night to go out the bars are less crowded.â
âMatt I have classes tomorrow.â
He has a resolute look on his face and you know youâve lost the argument here. âIâll bring you back to your dorm by midnight.â
You admit defeat by nodding your head yes and he pumps his fist in an overly exaggerated way. Then he puts his arm back around your shoulder and drags you towards the exit.
âSchneider knows a nice place not far from here apparently.â, he informs you.
âYouâre new best bud?â
âI would never dream of replacing youâ, he says with a funny smirk.
When you walk out of the building youâre met with huge, impressive hockey players and their beautiful significant others. You smile politely and wave your hand when Matt introduces you but nobody pays you too much attention as everybody is eager to get to drinking.
The bar you get to is nice, not too big but still pretty loud and the players overjoyed from their win only make it louder.
You sit squeezed in between Matt and one of the girlfriends. She doesnât particularly pay you attention except when she asked you who you are and how you met Matt.
When Matt leaves to get you a drink at the bar, Chytilâs girlfriend approaches you and introduces herself.
âSo have you and Matt been together for a long time ?â Luckily, the lighting is bad and she canât see you blush at her question.
âWeâre just really good friendsâ, you answer her after a beat.
âOh sorry, my bad.. Itâs just that usually guys donât bring such beautiful friends to bars when they try to find other girls to hook up withâ, she explains jokingly and you try not to get such thoughts into your head.
âFirst of all itâs so nice of you to call me pretty. And no honestly iâm really supportive of him trying to hook up with girls if he wants to. He just promised to get me back to my dorm before midnight so heâll probably have to do that afterwards.â She laughs at your words a bit too much and you laugh awkwardly as well, confused look on your face. Until she looks behind you and you understand.
âAlways knew I could count on you to be my wingwomanâ You turn around at Mattâs voice, the awkward smile still on your face. âAnd hereâs your cosmopolitan.â
âI'm not even sure you need a wingwoman now that youâre in the NHL.â
âThatâs not something we are going to test tonight because iâm here to celebrate with you and not some random girl.â He grins at you.
You spend the rest of the evening dancing and drinking your cocktails with Matt acting as the best body guard to ever exist on the dance floor. Itâs not often that you donât have any weirdo trying to approach you but having a 6â7 guy built like a refrigerator definitely helps so you can enjoy the music and just dance. Maybe you should go to the club with him more often.
You donât leave before midnight as promised. Itâs closer to 1am when you bid goodbye to Chytilâs girlfriend. She asks you if she will see you around more and you promise her to attend the next game.
When youâre outside the uber is already waiting for you and you get in with Matt still talking and laughing.
He then walks you up to your door and you turn around before opening. âSo now you know where I leaveâ
âYes this was my plan all along now I know where to come to steal the most comfortable blanketsâ, he says with a smirk
âI knew you were evil. You canât be tall, hot and ambitious without something hiding under the surface.â Did you just call him hot ? You can blame it on the alcohol even if it was only 3 cocktails.
âObviously. Now go get some good sleep and drink a glass of water.â He turns around to leave âGood nightâ
You yell after him âDrink some water too big boyâ you giggle to yourself and cover your mouth aware of how loud you just were.
The next morning you have a mild migraine but it hits you when you are brushing your teeth a song from last night playing on your phone.
The reason no guy approached you last night was because Matt always had his hand on you, your hand, your hip, your waist. It was just so natural to have him that close you didnât even notice in the moment.
ââ
Almost a week later, as you sit on your bed, music playing on your speaker because your roommate is out, you hear a loud repeated bang on your door.
You jump out of bed, turn off the music and run to the door. âWhoâs there?â, you ask warily.
âOpen up the door you deaf dumbassâ
âGreat to see you too my sugar plumâ, you stick your tongue out to Matt when opening the door.
He walks right past you into your dorm room and sets a bag on your desk. âI brought us snacks and video games.â
âYou know I donât have anything to play video games on right?â, you look at him eyebrows raised, hands on your hips.
âThat's why I brought my Xbox in my backpack?â He starts unpacking his stuff and setting up his gaming corner. Luckily you had a small TV you and your roommate chipped in together to buy.
âMake yourself at home I guess⊠I also hope youâre aware I wonât be playing with you I have to finish this essay for tomorrow morning.â
âI know. You said that you had to finish it tonight. I just thought it would be more fun to have company. And I havenât seen you because of the roadie.â You smile at his logic. Itâs non arguable. You would rather do anything and everything with him around than without him. And you missed him too.
Once heâs done setting it up, he sits at the end of your bed and looks at you expectantly. âI wonât be noisy I promise. Now can you bring the snacks?â
You smile like an idiot again, hand him the snacks and get back to your previous position in your bed.
He takes your feet on his lap and starts his game. Without even looking your way, he pushes the bag of your favorite candies towards you.
You sight contemptuously, a small smile adorning your face. This was so comfortable. A little too cozy for you to just see him as a friend.
Around 1am, you finish your assignment and Matt is already asleep at the feet of your bed. You lightly tap his shoulder and tell him to get under the covers because itâs too late for him to go home.
Still sleepy, he takes off his hoodie and gets comfortable while you go to the bathroom to get ready for bed. Then you get back to bed and try falling asleep but you are far too aware of his tall presence right next to you.
He is fast asleep when he sneaks one of his arms around you. Your bed isnât large enough for you not to touch anyway so you decide to enjoy his warm, comforting cuddles and fall asleep much faster now that youâre not stressing over it.
When you wake up for your class in the morning, Matthew has already left for practice.
ââ
The game against the Devils has been brutal. You couldnât attend but you were watching on your phone while at the library. You try to get done as much as you can before leaving the library and going to your closest 24/7 store.
You are ready to go around the whole city. You have a mission in mind and you will accomplish it : finding a Lego set (and food of course).
Luckily you only have to try two convenience stores before finding a good enough set. You also grab some snacks and head to Mattâs apartment.
You are already waiting in the lobby of his apartment building when he comes in.
He looks nasty and you canât help but cringe.
He drops his bag on the floor when heâs near and wraps his arms around you. For a while, you just remain like that, hugging, passing your fingers through his hair in an attempt to soothe him.
âYou wanna go up? I got us lego sets to buildâ, you ask in a small voice. He nods and pulls away without meeting your gaze.
You havenât seen him since his huge fight in Toronto so the black eye is shocking at first. And now heâs been suspended for four games. You know that even if he likes causing chaos, he likes the game more.
You silently follow him up to his apartment. Itâs a small studio, nothing crazy but itâs cozy and itâs clean.
You set your bags near the couch and go to the kitchen to look for something to cook dinner with. In the meantime, Matt gets another cold shower and changes into a pair of sweats.
When he comes out of his room, wet hair falling across his eyes, his t-shirt half up, your breath catches in your throat. Your gaze moves downwards and then you catch a glimpse of the bruises on his side as he finishes putting his shirt on.
âI left clothes for you on my bed if you wanna change into something more comfortable. I looked for the smallest sweatpants but hoodie might be just enough.â
He walks up to you and smells around, âWhat youâre cooking there?â
âMac and cheese. Didnât have too much choiceâ A pleasant smile appears on his face. âI can finish it, go get comfortable.â
He nudges you lightly so you let him take over and go to take a shower and change.
You had stayed at his place in Hartford the last two times you went up there. But this was different. You had always brought your own clothes and you would eat out with his friends before coming and crashing on his couch before leaving the next morning.
Now you are changing into his clothes, and as he said the hoodie almost reaches your knee so you donât bother with trying on the pants. It smells of him and you try not to be weird about it but it brings you such a sense of comfort you canât help but wrap your arms around yourself.
When you walk back into the open kitchen Matt is done with the Mac n cheese and getting the table ready.
âYou can sit down. Iâll be ready in a minute.â
You listen to him and sit down and a few moments later so does he. You eat in silence until he asks you about your day.
You donât want to press him about anything or upset him so you just go with his flow, letting him welcome you in when heâs ready.
When youâre done eating, itâs your turn to tell him to go get comfortable on the couch while you clean up the kitchen. Once youâre done you join him on the couch where he already started taking the legos out of their boxes.
You talk about your childhoods and how you used to play with legos and other toys, about your favorites and the ones you lost but just remembered how much you liked them.
When you finished the set, he put it on the shelf next to his TV and you both went to bed.
You insisted on sleeping on the couch to not bother him but he argued that he would.
Of course you wouldnât let him, knowing the physical state he was in. So you agreed to both sleep in the bed.
Once youâre under the covers and the lights are off you canât stop the words from falling out of your mouth as you turn towards him, âDoes it hurt a lot?â
He turns around to face you too, âWhere?â
It breaks your heart to hear him say this. Are there really so many hurtful part?
You slowly bring your hand to his abdomen under the covers. âHere?â
âI didnât think you would see itâ, he shuddered at your touch so you pull your hand back.
âIâm sorryâ
âItâs okay.â your voices are no louder than a whisper.
âCan I hug you?â, thereâs timidity in your voice that he has never heard before.
âPleaseâ
You wrap your arms around him and press his head under your chin. You fall asleep in that position only a few minutes later.
ââ
Now, you are waiting for him by the north entrance after his game against Florida as he had asked you but you have no idea what to expect nor where he is taking you. It didnât really matter anyway as you get to spend time with him.
He walks out the building wearing his suit, his bag slung over his shoulder.
âCongrats ! You played until the endâ You laugh at him throwing your arms around his torso. God how you loved his hugs. It feels like being engulfed in the warmest cloud.
âAnd I got an assistâ, he says pulling back from the hug and grinning at you.
Your smile widens as well as you crank your neck to look up at him âYou did great champ!â
You pull away from his arms feeling yourself getting hungrier by the second. âCome one now take me to eat. You know cheering on you is such a physical activity.â
You catch sight of his crooked tie once you are completely out of his arms and reach to straighten it. âI changed as fast as I could so you wouldnât have to wait long.â He explains looking down at you.
You canât look up to meet his gaze, too busy trying to hide your blush.
When youâre done, you ask him to lead the way and he points to the left and tells you to follow him because âhe knows a placeâ.
You walk for a few blocks until youâre in Times Square and then he stops.
âMatt donât tell me you wanna play tourist right now. I swear Iâm not kidding when I say Iâm famished.â You look up at him with a pout.
He checks his watch, âCan you keep the whining down, Iâm the one whoâs paying for dinner, please?â He looks around at the billboard like heâs never seen them before.
âIâm hungry, come on letâs go Iâll pay for my meal if itâs what it takes.â You try to argue.
He stops turning around and you get in front of him to try and get his attention back on you. He checks his watch again. What is he waiting for?
âMatt the hell are you looking around for ? This is not your first time in Time Square. I hope the place you wanted to take me doesnât close too soonâŠâ
He looks behind you and his eyes light up. âThis is where I wanted to take you.â He says grinning like a devil.
You want to ask whatâs going on, mouth half open but he tells you to turn around so you do.
Mouth still hanging agape, the first thing your eyes lay on is a huge billboard with your name on it. And the question âWill you go to prom with me?â. You heart skips a beat there.
Youâre speechless for a second and very confused when you turn back around to look at Matt. âWhat is this? What prom, Matt? Colleges donât do proms and Iâm in my senior year. What do youâŠâ
He cuts you off seeing the frown on your face âYou told me once that you never got to go to prom during high school. And I know how much you love those fancy dresses and dancing to 2000 music. I didnât want you to feel sad again because you feel like you missed out on something.â
Oh you are so about to cry.
Tears are brimming your lashes already. Your stomach is doing somersaults.
âSo will you go to prom with me? The one I organized just for us so you canât really say noâŠâ You hear the small quiver in his voice and how he slows down at the end. He is feeling unsure. Itâs the sweetest thing ever.
The tears staining your face are happy ones so you nod your head vigorously, unable to speak because of the knot in your throat. A smile cracks its way onto your face and at the sight of it he leans down to hug you. You jump into his arms and wraps yours around his neck.
âI canât believe you did this for meâ Youâre now sobbing into his shoulder, pushing your face into the crook of his neck to hide your tear stained, all red, face, from the crowd around you.
It feels like itâs just the two of you in the world. You donât hear the crowd over your own beating heart anymore.
How did you get so lucky?
You want to tell him how much this means to you, how much he means to you. Yet itâs not the time to confess your feelings. You canât ruin this moment with your selfish emotions when heâs done this for you as a friend. So you settle for thank yous.
âYouâre the best, really.â You squeeze harder before trying to pull away but he still has you in his arms and your feet donât even touch the ground.
Your faces are inches away, and you feel an itch you canât quite scratch, because heâs not your boyfriend and kissing him could ruin all this.
âThank you. Genuinely. I donât know what I did to deserve you but youâre really the best Mattâ You think he can probably feel your breath on his face. You hope he canât hear your pulse this close. You hope you donât smell of the beer you drank earlier at the game.
Oh no, you realise as he puts you down, your breath probably smells of the beer.
He shots the toothiest smile youâve ever seen on him. âGood letâs go get you some food now.â
May the universe help your poor little heart, as you melt internally at his smile, words and actions.
ââ
You knew Matthew was a man of his word and if he said he would do it he will. But what you didnât expect was for him to go so overboard with it.
A few days after his promposal, he texts you that after class youâre both going shopping the next day. He had called you after the game when they clinched the first spot and said that your fake prom would be before the playoffs.
He waits for you in front of your building, baseball cap sitting backwards on his head, two coffees in his hand.
Your heart skips a beat when you first catch sight of him, easy to notice him with such a height. You think you would recognise him even in the dark anyway, when everything in your body pulls you to him in the way it has done since youâve met him.
Heâs right here and so close and yet so out of reach because you canât run up to him and kiss him like you would like to.
It has gotten harder to ignore your feelings since he started acting like the best boyfriend in the world while simultaneously not being your boyfriend.
You walk slowly to give yourself time to recompose yourself. He smiles broadly when he sees you too.
He doesnât know how much he affects so you canât blame him. Heâs just being friendly, like he always was.
When you reach him, he hands you your cup of coffee then pulls you into his chest and your giggle gets muffled by his warm sweater.
He asks you about your day, your classes, why youâve been up since he went away. He listens to your every word even though youâve already told him all of this through texts.
You walk the streets of New York together until he stops in front of a dress shop.
âNo, no, no Matt, I cant afford this.â You stop him before he walks inside, hand on his arm. âAnd aiâm not letting you pay for my dress. Just putting this out there hopefully before the thought even crosses your mindâ
He takes your hand off his arms and wraps it with his. âLetâs just see what they have.â
He tugs you inside and you donât have any other choice but to follow.
The shopping assistant greets you and after giving you a few minutes to look around she starts asking question about what you want, the type of event, the color preferences, the length.
Sure you had imagined the type of dress you would have worn if you ever got invited to prom when you were a teenager. But you were never invited by anyone and as you were starting to think about going alone your mom got very sick and you had to stay home while your dad went to work.
But asked this way on the spot you have no idea. You say blue for the colour. Itâs you favourite one and Matt has a nice blue suit that could match.
The sales assistant picked out some dresses for you while you and Matt looked around. He made you promise to not look at the price until youâve tried on all the dresses that you liked but you knew you wouldnât be getting anything from here.
After going around the whole store, the sales assistant directed you to the back to try on the dresses. Struggling to tie up the dress, you peak your head outside the door to ask her for help but only see Matthew.
âShe went to get you heels. Do you need help?â You nod, open the door wider as he gets closer and slowly turn around making sure the dress stays in place.
He gets on it with expert hands pulling the laces tight. âTighter?â His voice is low, near your ear. It sends shivers down your spine.
You nod not trusting your voice just yet. You feel hot all over but you also shiver.
âSorry my fingers are coldâŠâ
He is almost done now so you want to break the awkward silence.
âYouâre good at it.â Great remark, way to go.
âYeah I helped my sister a few times.â
Did he just compare you to his sister? Amazing.
With perfect timing your sales assistant comes back with a pair of beautiful black heels. âSorry for making you wait. Your boyfriend told me you shoe size but I had to find something that would match.â
So much for helping with the awkwardnessâŠ
âHe um⊠weâre not umâŠâ You tried articulating your thoughts pointing between you and Matt.
Instead of helping you, he looks at you with an amused look on his face then thanks the woman while taking the shoes from her.
âYou can hold onto my shoulder.â He says kneeling down and setting the shoes on the ground in front of you. You lift your dress with one hand, grab his shoulder with the other one as he so kindly suggested, and then extend your foot to put the shoe on. He even helps you get the shoe on.
You were trying not to overthink his every move but it was impossible. Why is he acting this way all of a sudden ? Why didnât he tell the sales assistant that you were just friends ? Why ..?
Your thoughts are cut off when Matthew stands up and you lose your balance and almost fall.
He extends an arm to catch but you stop him with your hand and a chuckle.
He steps back and he and the sales assistant both look at you. You start feeling flustered so you turn around to look for a mirror.
As you walk over to it, you can feel Mattâs gaze on your black, and the ghosts of his fingertips on your skin.
The dress looks beautiful but something is not right. Itâs a bit too over the top and you just donât feel it. Matthew sees it in your eyes when you look at him through the mirror.
You change into the second dress but you donât like how it looks around your chest so you donât even get out of the dressing room.
The third one was beautiful. The flowy fabric, the sea green color of the dress, the thin straps and square neckline accentuating all the right places. You look down at yourself one last time and take a peak at the price tag before walking out of the dressing room to show it to Matt. It breaks your heart to act like itâs not the most beautiful dress you have ever worn. But you canât afford it.
You donât think youâve ever seen Matthew looking at you this way. His mouth is slightly agape which gives you an insane boost of confidence.
âYeah Iâm not gonna take this one. You wouldnât be able to handle it.â You tease him which makes him slightly blush. Oh this is getting funny.
âShould I do a spin ? Let me do a spinâ
Maybe you could not eat for the next month or two ? Because if it triggers this type of reaction from Matt you would wear it everyday.
When you look at him again, he stares at you and gulps.
âYou look.. you look like a washed up algue on the Jersey shoreâ He deadpans. A smirk threatens to crack his serious appearance.
You explode in laughter, âYou sure know how to talk to a woman. But that settles it Iâm not buying it.â You turn around to go back into the dressing room without seeing his disappointed look or leaving him the time to argue with you.
You try on the rest of the dresses but none of them are what you are looking for so you bid goodbye to the sales assistants and exit the store.
âThis was very cute of you Matt but I promise Iâll find the perfect dress in a thrift shop without having to starve for the next month.â You assured him.
âYeah sure sorryâŠâ How dare he be this cute??
âI know that we went to this type of store with my sister for her proms and she loved it.â He argues
You smile at him, âSo you wanted my experience to be as authentic as it gets.â
âExactlyâ he gives you that cheeky childish grin. Heâs proud of himself and he can be.
You shake your head at him and urge him in the direction of your favorite coffee shop.
âItâs too late for coffee I thinkâ, he remarks which makes you look at the time on your phone.
âWow I didnât think we wasted that much time in the storeâ you were surprised, but then again time moves so fast when you were having fun with Matt.
âHey come on it wasnât a waste of time you got to try on beautiful dressesâ he argued again, heading back in the direction of your dorm.
âYouâre right but not walking faster to get to Philâs surely is a waste of timeâ You saying grinning.
âWhen it comes to getting food it always sounds like youâre the 6â7 hockey players who needs to eat a lot of caloriesâ Heâs already caught up to you so you can punch his arm at the teasing.
âYeah well where would I get the energy to annoy you if I didnât eat this much?â, you give him the same sassy energy back.
The banter and the laughter doesnât stop and suddenly heâs already walking you back to your dorm and hugging you goodbye.
Once you are in your pyjamas you get your laptop out and get to work on your assignment.
To your dismay, pretty boys donât make uni work disappearâŠ
ïżœïżœâ
You were looking at your eyeshadow palette, indecisive. Maybe you should just do a simple eyeliner ? You wanted to do your best, look your best, impress Matt after everything heâs done for you.
You were lucky to find a dress similar to the sea green one you had found in the store but just a tad lighter in colour. You put on your highest heels so the pictures with Matthew looked better. He promised to make it look as authentic as possible so he got one of the older guys on the team to let him borrow the apartment. Pictures by the fireplace are a must according to him.
So you gathered all the belongings you needed after your only class this morning and came to the address he had sent you. You called the number he had sent along when you were in front of the building and a nice woman who introduced herself as Christine told you what apartment to go to.
You were sort of starstruck when she first opened the door and wondered how these hockey players really bagged all these 10s. She wasnât amongst the girls and women you had met both times you have gone with Matt to the bar to celebrate after a game and you understood why when you heard two kids arguing in the background.
She had quickly let you in and apologized for the noise they were making while taking you to the room where you could get ready. You had thanked her a million times over for welcoming you this way but she told you that they couldnât say no when Matthew had explained his plan so sweetly. She had commented about how lucky you were to have him with a wink and you nodded, cheeks flustered.
Now you are almost done. You had begun with your hair, finally decided to just do a soft look on your eyes with some glitter and put on your dress.
You are putting on your pink gloss, looking at yourself in the mirror. You promise yourself that this is the night you will tell Matt how you feel, when you hear a knock on the door.
âHoney, are you ready? Matthew is here.â Christine calls out to you.
âI will be out in a minute.â, you answer as you put on your perfume finally.
You take a deep breath before opening the door and shake your arms in a manner to get the anxiety out of your body. You walk to the living room slowly to not scrap the parquet with your heels, looking down at your feet, dress in hand.
When you get there, you raise your head to find Matt already looking at you. He looks stunning in his suits, you already knew that. But there something that made him look particularly handsome. Probably knowing that he dressed up for you.
A smile creeps its way in your face as he stares at you in awe. You pat yourself on the back internally for doing a good job on the hair and makeup.
âYou look um⊠you look beautiful.â, he finally manages to get out.
You giggle and thank him. He really makes you feel like a high schooler, you think.
âYou donât look bad yourself.â You smile.
âYou see me in a suit every other dayâ, heâs being modest.
âBut you have something particular about yourself todayâ
Oh god, youâre gonna be the death of him. Complementing him so effortlessly. He made more of an effort today itâs true. He wanted to look half as good as you at least. He also made a point of not fighting in his last games so he doesnât have a bruised face on these pictures.
âOh I got something for you.â He reaches out behind him on the fireplace and grabs a box. You walk closer, curious to see what it is and your eyes lay in a beautiful corsage for your wrist and a matching flower for his pocket.
You give him your hand and look at him while puts it on âItâs beautiful thank you.â
âOkay kids, let's take some cute pictures,â Christine says, clapping her hands, even though she already took ten pictures of you interacting.
âI see youâre fully playing your roleâ you laugh at her antics.
âJust rehearsing for the futureâ, she retorts with the same cocky smile you gave her. âOkay now get in front of the fireplace. Matt stands behind her.â She was giving instructions like a pro and you assumed sheâs already done this for her own prom.
Just like she said, Matt walks up behind you and sneaks his arms around your waist. Instinctively, he spreads his fingers but his hands awkwardly cover your whole tummy so he holds your hips.
You try to relax for the picture but youâre overly aware of every inch of his body touching yours.
âCome on guys, give me your best smiles now!â Christine encourages you.
You try to focus on the pictures, the camera, your hair, your smile. You rearrange your dress to be sure it is okay.
Once she says she has a few good ones, you change your pose and you get used to it. You look at a few before takes and they do look beautiful.
Once youâre done, Matt thanks Christine and you both head out to the restaurant he had made a reservation for.
The taxi ride is not too long since you were already in a nice part of the city. The restaurant looks way too over priced and you feel bad for how much money heâs spending on you.
Once youâre sitting at your table, you can help but tease him, âIâm amazed you even managed to make such a reservation.â
âSchneider helpedâ, he admits.
âSo this evening really is a team effort. If I wasnât enjoy it so much, I would probably feel bad for bothering everybodyâ, you say half jokingly.
The whole dinner is amazing and delicious. You donât think youâve ever eaten in a place this fancy and frankly both of you probably look out of place.
More than once you laugh a little too loud and swear a little too often which earns you some pointed glances from the old rich people around you. That only makes you laugh even more.
By the time youâre out of them, you feel the slight buzz of the overpriced wine and canât wait to see what Matt has planned next.
The next taxi ride takes you back to his apartment and youâre sad you didnât get to dance. You think you might still convince Matt to put on some music to dance in the kitchen too.
You think of your arguments all the way up and when he makes you wait in the hallway. But you donât need any once he opens the door and lets you see what he prepared inside.
There was glitter everywhere, colorful light effects and you couldnât even catch a glimpse of a photo zone next to the bathroom door.
âI know we donât have a prom party with all the people dancing around us and our friends but I hoped this would make do.â, he says looking at you from behind, studying your every emotion.
You turn to him, your brightest smile on your face âThis is perfect Matt.â You grab his hand and drag him inside.
âLetâs take a picture first. We can set the timer and flash on my phone.â You set your phone in the place he prepared for it and push on the timer. You take your dutiful place in front of him in front of the photo zone and thereâs no awkwardness as earlier.
Then you go back to the leaving room to put some music on, he goes to the kitchen and comes out with punch.
âDonât we face the chaperones too? For the more authentic experienceâŠâ
âYou plan on doing such naughty things you need a chaperone?â Oh, you werenât expecting him to clap back this way.
âI donât have enough alcohol in the system, bring that punch over hereâ, cowardly move but you didnât lie. You need more liquid courage to tell him everything you think.
You take the drink from his hand when he extends it to you and down half of it.
You cradle the rest of your hand while Give me everything tonight plays in the background but it doesnât take long for you to finish that too.
You dance to your favorite songs until a slow by Def Leppard comes on. âWouldnât be a full prom experience if we didnât slow danceâ, Matt defends his choice of putting it in the playlist.
âYouâre right. Letâs danceâc you nod getting closer to him. Your fingers are intertwined behind his neck and his hands settle in your lower back.
With each sway to the rhythm, your bodies get closer.
You look amazing. He used beautiful earlier but that hadnât been enough to describe how truly gorgeous you look. He wants to use every word he knows, compare you to stars and flowers and yet it still feels like it wouldnât be enough. You are giving him your brightest smile and he feels proud at the thought that he is the one who put it on your face. He made you happy. He wants to make you happy everyday in the future.
You are so close to him. Right in front of him. He thinks he should gather his courage and tell you he likes you. He can feel the warmth radiating from your skin through your thin dress, your fingers running through his hair at the nape of his neck.
He thinks about all the times youâve made him happy. The first time you ever talked to him and offered snacks to him and his friends who were just strangers in the park. The time when you first surprised him by coming to Hartford to see him play. He wasnât seeing you in that light at the time. However recently, when you came to comfort him after he had been suspended for four games. He had wanted to kiss you then right in his lobby when he saw you. But he couldnât use you like that to drown his sorrows. And what were the chances that you wouldnât push him away and leave him all alone?
He always thought you were hot, even Schneider and LafreniĂšre commented on it when he had brought you to the bar with them to celebrate. He had told them to back off right then and there, to not even think about it. He thought it was due to friendly protectiveness. He later realised that he hated the thought of anyone else putting their hands on you and make you happy in that way.
âWhy didnât you ever kiss me?â, you interrupt his train of thought. He is completely caught out. Did he hear you right? He takes another few seconds to process but he can see the concern taking over your features.
âI could do that? I didnât know I could?â he looks dumbfounded which makes you laugh. âCan I kiss you now?â
âDo you want to?â
âStupid question. Can I kiss you?â, his breath is ragged.
âStupid question.â you giggle, âLose some more time asking others like this o-â.
He doesnât let you finish before crashing his lips on yours and stealing your breath away. Itâs passionate but sweet and oh so soft at the same time.
Itâs so much better than you couldnât have ever imagined. Sparks fly. Butterflies erupt in your stomach. Shivers run down your spine. You have wanted this for so long, was tempted to do it a million times and it is finally happening.
You need more. You wish he would never stop kissing you.
When he pulls away for air, slightly panting and lips and the skin around them sparkly from your gloss, you canât help the chuckle.
âIt tastes like cherryâ, he says through a small laugh of his own.
âOh yeah? wanna taste it some more?â

Requesting sadness 15: âI canât do this anymore.â w/ Terry Richmond but it could be an unrequited love story that maybe was reciprocated idk
@pocketsizedpanther put NFL!Terry in my mind and this is what came up.
Silence. Unusual, unbearable silence. The kind of silence that hung in the air thick like humidity in Georgia, choking the life out of every living being in its vicinity.Â
Silver forks scratched porcelain plates while two lovers sat across from each other trying to salvage a romantic dinner gone awry before it could ever start. Terry sensed the discomfort when he flew into town with no welcoming hug at the end of the tarmac. She left no text, no call, not even an insight into her whereabouts via Instagram stories. Only an empty space where her pretty red BMV usually sat awaiting his return.Â
She hadnât been in the stands lately either. From the cloudless skies of Los Angeles to the bitter chill of Philadelphia, she was a mainstay on the sidelines, wearing his last name on her back like a badge of honor. But tickets had gone unclaimed here and there. Not enough to raise alarms, but enough for him to bring it up as they dug into the nightâs dinner.Â
âIf you wasnât trynna be in the cold, thatâs cool too. Itâs justâŠyou know. I wanted you to be there to see us win the conference. Itâs kind of a big deal. First time in like six seasons or something like that. I donât know. I just got here.â
âIâm sorry.âÂ
âYou donât have to be sorry. Iâd rather make sure youâre good than get tight over a game. Football isnât more important than you. You straight?â He shoveled a forkful of branzino into his mouth, looking across the table for a response that she never provided. âTia, whatâs up? You feeling alright?âÂ
âIâm fine.âÂ
âDid I forget something?âÂ
âNo.âÂ
âSomebody DM you something crazy? Fans bothering you again? Let me know something.âÂ
Her distant stare slowly drifted to his face with tears welling in her waterline. âI-Terrence, I canât do this anymore?âÂ
âDo what? What you mean?â He knew. Heâd seen the text messages and how she rushed out of the room to answer phone calls. The rumor mills and blind item reports never missed a beat. Atlanta wasnât a city for secrets. But, he prayed that theyâd been mistaken. Taking a sip of his water, he took a deep breath and repeated himself. âWhat canât you do anymore? Sneak around like I canât see you? Lie? Cheat? What is it, Tia?âÂ
Each question came out louder than the one before, making Tia wince in her seat.Â
She knew heâd never put his hands on her. Terry was too sweet for that. So sweet that it made life boring. Being a kept trophy wife wasnât her speed, but she allowed him to woo her in the VIP section of a club in Las Vegas and drag her back to a slow life full of WAG meetings and nosey neighbors. The thrill of being All Star tight end Terrence Richmondâs girlfriend lost its luster the moment engagement rings and wedding dresses became the topic of every conversation.Â
One-night stands turned into sneaking around during long road trips until feelings and another life threw a wrench in what was supposed to be a quick fling with someone far too stupid to be a long-term beau. Sheâd fucked up.Â
âItâs not you,â she choked out, trying to offer him some solace. âHe was around when you werenât and I-â
âBro, donât explain that shit to me! You donât think Iâm lonely sometimes? That I donât meet women ready to fill a void if I snap my fingers? Câmon, Tia. This me you talkinâ to right now! Stop playing in my face!âÂ
He was fuming and fighting to keep his emotions at bay as he paced across the lavish dining room.Â
Tia drew in a deep breath to calm the tears forcing a painful lump into her throat. âIâm sorry, Terry. I know I messed up. I embarrassed you and Iâm so fucking sorry for that.âÂ
âDid you fuck him?â Dread attacked their bellies simultaneously. Seconds passed so slowly that he looked over at the wall clock to make sure time wasnât standing still. Her silence became confirmation.Â
She swallowed hard and nodded. âIâm pregnant. Yesterday makes eight weeks. Terry...â
âThe Houston game, wasnât it. When you said you got sick halfway through and had to leave early. You lied in front of my mama and got pregnant while she was worried about you. You fuckinâ sick in the head, Tia, what the fuck!â
Any explanation Tia intended to offer became lost in a swirl of profanity and angry shouting. Betrayed was the prevailing sentiment. All of his hopes for a family smiling back at him before pre-game intros were dashed, leaving him grieving in real-time. He blamed himself for believing that she was ready for something serious and ignoring the warnings. Now, all he had to show for his blind optimism was a broken heart.Â
Tia watched Terry dissolve into a near rage with tears ruining her foundation as they poured without ceasing. All of the trust, all of the love theyâd built in two years together was washed away by her selfishness.Â
âYou gotta go,â he finally managed to grit through clenched teeth. âGet the fuck out. Nah, fuck it. Iâll go. You stay until I can get some shit figured out, but you canât stay here past the weekend.â
âTerrence! I donât have anywhere to go!âÂ
âThatâs not my fuckinâ problem! Call your sister or that nigga or some shit, I donât care. All Iâve ever done is take care of you. If you think you can keep makinâ a fool outta me, you got the wrong motherfucka. This shit is over. Forreal this time!â
âBut, I canât -âÂ
âWhat the fuck are you fighting for, Tia? You made your decision. Deal with that shit!â
Sobbing and pleas to rethink his decision hit the condoâs walls like bricks, likely fueling a noise complaint that would be slapped on the door come morning. Tia listened to Terry rifle through drawers and closets on the hunt for enough to get him through a few nights at the Four Seasons.Â
He just needed to blow off some steam. Theyâd been in this place before, angry and screaming at the top of their lungs behind her indiscretions, only to come back together and push the pain of the past to the far recesses of their mind. But, as he stomped his way out of the front door and into the night without so much as a second look, the future became more clear.Â
He was gone. For good this time.

Kirby Smart
Physique: Husky Build Height: 5'10" (1.78 m)
Kirby Paul Smart (born December 23, 1975) is an American football coach and former player. He is the current head football coach at the University of Georgia, his alma mater. As head coach, he led the Bulldogs to back-to-back national championships in 2021 and 2022.
Handsome, solid body, nice dick sucking lips (dsls) and if you look closely you will note that he has a ferociously furry arms. So he's possibly hair. I must of had blinders on before because I never realize how hot Kirby is. I donât know why I havenât notice him til now. Oh I know, I havenât seen a Georgia game in who knows how long. Now Iâm going to change that.
Born in Montgomery, AL, and grew up in Bainbridge, GA. Smart began his playing career at Bainbridge High School and went on to play college football at the University of Georgia. Smart graduated from the Terry College of Business in 1998 with a bachelor's degree in finance. He went undrafted in the 1999 NFL draft and signed a free-agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts. He spent the 1999 preseason with the team but was cut before the start of the regular season. In 2003, Kirby attended Florida State University for graduate school.
Smart began his coaching career with the University of Georgia in 1999, Valdosta State in 2001, and at Florida State while pursuing a master's degree from 2002 to 2003. Smart then spent one season under head coach Nick Saban in 2004 before following to Miami Dolphins in 2006 then to the University of Alabama in 2007. On December 1, 2015, it was "reported" that Smart had been hired as the next coach for Georgia.
Again married⊠aren't all the hot ones? He pretty much seems to have lived and breathed football his entire life, when he wasn't marrying his college sweetheart, Mary "Beth" Elizabeth Lycett (awww) and having three kids. There isn't much else I can say about him. He's good looking and I'd love to fuck him until his head caved in. Well, he would probably disagree.
Head Coaching Record Overall: 100â17 Bowls: 9â2 Tournaments: 5â1 (CFP) National 2 SEC (2017, 2022) 6 SEC East Division (2017â2019, 2021â2023)

Feuer frei at FSV Goldlauter - Rock star Till Lindemann supports Suhl youth team
The C-junior team of FSV Goldlauter can look forward to new jerseys at the start of the season. Not particularly unusual at first glance. But at second glance, it's a really nice story. Because the jersey sponsor is not a local company, but Germany's most famous rock star.
Unbelievable but true. Till Lindemann, singer of the band Rammstein and successful solo artist and author, has become the shirt sponsor of the youth team of the small Thuringian club. His logo prominently adorns the new, white JAKO jerseys of the young footballers.
"Of course, it's not so easy to find sponsors who can or want to raise the money for a complete set of jerseys, especially in the youth and in our rural area. During the last Rammstein concerts in Gelsenkirchen, I had the idea of simply asking Till Lindemann, with whom I've been friends for many years. So I wrote Till a WhatsApp message and got a positive reply straight away."
After Lindemann's approval, the new jersey was designed by DeinTeam24 based on the Jako Iconic shirt.
Jeremy Weisheit, coach of the FSV Goldlauter C youth team: "I would like to thank Alex Becker and especially Till Lindemann. My players and I are really proud to be able to play in these special shirts. It's not every day that a superstar like Till supports our team. We will do everything we can to live up to this honor."

All Of The Girls You Loved Before - Joe Burrow
Summary: With the two of you having different careers while working for the National Football League, it was destined that your paths would cross again⊠But, there wasnât enough time in the world that could prepare you to see your childhood best friend for the first time in 8 years.
Genre: Fluff and Angst (Childhood Friends To Strangers To Lovers AU)
âYour Mother Brought You Up Loyal And Kind, Teenage Love Taught You There's Good In Goodbye, Every Woman That You Knew Brought You Here⊠I Wanna Teach You How Forever Feelsâ Taylor Swift; All Of The Girls You Loved Before.
Since your career as a journalist for the National Football League started in 2020, youâve had the honor of being able to travel all across the United States and been apart of the broadcast team for some of the most memorable football games in the past few year.
Throughout your NFL journalist career; youâve watched from the sideline as the journalists who have years of experience compared to you do their job of sitting down with football players from the 32 NFL teams throughout the season and ask them questions that football fans want to know about their NFL careers.
As the AFC Championship football game was happening this weekend; the NFL decided to give you the opportunity to interview one of the football players that will be playing in the AFC Championship.
When you were asked to do the interview, you were so excited for the opportunity that was given to you⊠but when the NFL gave you more information about which football player you would be interviewing before AFC Championship game, your heart sank to your stomach.
It wasnât a surprise to you that the NFL wanted you to interview one of the most popular football players that would be playing in the AFC Championship⊠but out of all the popular football players the NFL couldâve chosen for your to interview, the NFL decided that they wanted you to interview the Quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow.
The issue with you doing an interview with Joe Burrow isnât because he has some sort of bad reputation with journalists, because he doesnât have a bad reputation with journalists. All of your co-workers that have worked with Joe Burrow in some kind of way has only had good things to say about him⊠The issue with you doing an interview with Joe Burrow is because the two of you have a lot of history together.
Before the world knew Joe Burrow as the Quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, you knew Joe Burrow as your childhood best friend⊠The two of you grew up in Ohio together and attended elementary school, middle school, and high school together. It would be hard for you to deny that you had a crush on Joe during your childhood and teenage-hood, but the crush didnât turn into any more as you made the decision to leave Ohio to attend a college out of the state while Joe had decided to attend Ohio State University alongside many other high school friend and classmates.
The two of you tried to keep in touch as best as you could but; as the two of you were experiencing life beyond the limitations of adolescenceâs restrictions, the two of you grew apart⊠All of a sudden, there were no more texts and calls between the two of you and when you would go to visit in Ohio, you never stopped by The Burrowâs House and the sense of being home was gone when you would drive past their house.
Joe and you had chosen two different career paths that ultimately ended up leading the two of you back to each other⊠When you decided to take the job opportunity from the NFL to become apart of their journalism team, you knew that one day you would be face to face with the man that you knew once as your childhood best friends but was now a stranger to you, but the honest truth is that you didnât wish that you would have to be face to face with him so soon.
There wasnât enough time in that world that could prepare you for this interview, as youâre sitting in the room where the interview will be taking place⊠Your mind is racing through so many different thoughts as your leg is bouncing up and down because of nerves. As you look around the room to see the only people in here are the camera crew, you hope that they arenât suspicious of your body behavior.
It was hard for you to not wonder if when Joe would arrive into the room where the interview would take place if he would recognize you⊠It has been almost 10 years since youâve seen him in person and while your parents say that you look the same from when you were younger, you knew that youâve grown up a lot these past few years into the young adult that you are.
âY/N!â someone says, getting your attention. When you turn your head, you see that itâs the Director of the NFLâs Journalism Board, Irene, who called your name. âJoe Burrow should be here any minute⊠Do you have all your questions ready?!â
âYes I do!â you exclaim as you showed her your Index Cards that have all the questions that you need to ask.
âThatâs good to see!â Irene says. âAll we have to do when Joe arrives is to get his lapel microphone on his shirt and then the interview can get started!â
Another few minutes went by, and before the Director of the NFLâs Journalism Board could start panicking about the NFL Quarterback being behind on schedule⊠There was a loud knock on the door and then suddenly, the door opened to reveal Joe Burrow and his team were here for the interview.
When the two of you make eye contact, his eyes widen due to the surprise of seeing his old childhood best friend for the first time since High School Graduation⊠As the two of you continued to stare at each other, not wanting to be the one to break eye contact, Joeâs team and the NFL crew starting having their own discussion.
For the entire day, Joe had been so nervous for the interview and he couldnât figure out why because most of the time; he was never nervous about doing interviews even though he didnât like doing interview⊠Joe knew that you started working for the NFL around the same time that he was drafted to the NFL, but he never thought that the two of you would cross paths.
Joe always felt like it was his fault for the reason why the communication between the two of you stopped, he was always busy with football practices classes, and being a young adult in college⊠Even though you were busy with your college life too you always tried to communicate with him but, Joe would never answer and then one day you stopped trying to communicate.
It was in that moment when Joe felt like he was once again a teenage boy that had the biggest crush on his childhood best friend⊠When he would watch you on TV during the broadcast segments alongside other NFL journalists; he could see your beauty just from the TV screen, but it has been years since heâs seen you right in front of him and it wasnât hard for him to deny that you are more gorgeous than ever before.
Joe knew that he wouldnât be able to do the interview with you unless the two of you were able to talk⊠but he knew that the chances of the two of you being able to talk were small because his team and the NFL crew needed to get this interview done as soon as possible, but Joe will take that small chance to talk to you.
As Joeâs teams and the NFL crew that were in charge of working behind the scenes are having a discussion about the interview; the two of you kept eye contact as Joe walked over to where you are sitting at with the index cards in your lap, because he felt like he needed to talk to you before the interview started.
âHiâŠâ Joe says nervously with his hands in his pockets.
âHeyâŠâ you mumbled. âItâs been a long time hasnât it.â
âYeah it hasâŠâ Joe admits, âListen I-â
âif youâre about to apologize for not keeping in contact with me, this isnât the right time to do it.â you say, interrupting him. âLetâs focus on your interview.â
Joe nods his head and opens his mouth to speak again, but before he could say anything⊠One of the NFL crew members is calling his name so that they can out his lapel microphone on his shirt, so that the interview can get started as soon as possible.
The short conversation that Joe wanted to have with you didnât go to plan⊠As he watched you speak to your manager and some of the members on his team about the interview, he realized that this wasnât the right time to have any sort of discussion with you that wasnât about the interview that will be happening soon.
It was clear that you didnât want the NFL crew to know about the history between the two of you⊠There are stories about how NFL journalists that have a close connection with a football player could get into serious trouble. Joe knows how hard of a worker you are so he wouldnât want to risk your career as a NFL journalist because you are one of the best in the business.
As everything for the interview was finally set up and ready to go, there was no more time to wait. It was time for the interview with Joe Burrow right before the AFC Championship football game against the Kanas City Chiefs, which is considered to be biggest football game of his career so far.
When the interview started, after introducing yourself and Joe, there was tension as this was the first conversation that the two of you had in many years⊠but you remained professional as you asked all of the questions that you had written down on your index cards that were about Joeâs career in the NFL since being drafted in April 2020 and then listened to all of answers that Joe had to your questions.
The two of you sat across from each other and overtime as the interview continues⊠the tension slowly started to go away as the two of you became more comfortable speaking and listening to each other talk while still remaining professional for the cameras.
The interview was going better than you expected it to go, it was heartwarming to her your childhood best friend speak about his childhood dreams becoming a reality⊠It was hard for you to not get emotional while hearing about all of the struggles Joe had to go through to get to where he is in his football career in the NFL without you by his side to support him.
There were so many questions that you were asking Joe about the journey of his football career and you were award how overwhelming it could be for him to answer all of these questions⊠Even though Joe has never been a big fan of doing interviews, the interview that he is doing with you is his favorite interview that he will ever do during his football career.
After 10 minutes of the two of you going back in forth in conversation with you asking questions and Joe giving you the answers that you wanted⊠The interview was coming to an end, and itâs safe to say that the NFL crew and Joeâs team were very impressed with how the interview went.
âGood job Y/N and Joe! That was an excellent interview!â Irene said. âThe interview should be available on YouTube and the NFL website the day before the AFC Championship football game, hopefully it doesnât take long to edit the interview.â
âThatâs good to hear!â Joeâs manager says clapping their hands in excitement. âI have to say⊠Iâm really happy that Y/N was chosen to interview Joe because the chemistry the two of you have with each other made it seemed like I was watching two old friends catch up rather than watching an interviewer and a football player have a conversation.â
Joe looked down to the ground with a small blush on his face as you tried your best to not show a reaction to the statement that Joeâs manager said⊠You couldnât hope but wonder if Joe had told his manager about the history between the two of you before the interview.
As the NFL crew starts packing all the equipment after unclipping the lapel microphones off of your shirt and Joeâs shirt⊠You decided that now was the best time to leave the interview room to go to your office to start working on some articles that needed to be published before the AFC Championship.
It was easy to sneak past everyone as the NFL crew was occupied with packing the equipment while the Director of the NFLâs Journalism Board and Joeâs team were having a conversation⊠but it didnât take long for Joe to notice that you were no longer in the room, and he decided that this was another chance for the two of you to talk if he was able to find out where you went.
âHey Irene⊠Where is the restroom?!â Joe asked, interrupting the conversation between the Director of the NFLâs Journalism Board and his manager.
âItâs right down the hallway to the right!â Irene replies.
âThank you⊠Iâll be right back!â Joe says before standing up out of his chair and walking out the room.
Joe started to walk down the hallway of the NFL Headquarters trying to figure out where you could be⊠He examined all of the signs that were displayed on the closed doors, Joe figured that if he couldnât find a door that could lead him to you then the next option would be for him to check the lobby of the NFL Headquarters.
It didnât take long for Joe to find a door that had a sign with your name on it, he assumed that his was your office and it made sense that this is where you would be after doing your job of interviewing him⊠Joe said a silent prayer that this is where you are and then he knocked on your office door.
He thought that he wouldâve heard your voice to invite him inside your office, but instead he heard footsteps coming closer to the door as his heart started to race⊠When the door opened to reveal that it was you behind the door, he was so happy that he found you.
Meanwhile, you were surprised to see Joe right in front of you. When you took the opportunity to sneak out of the interview room, you werenât expected Joe to follow you to your office⊠But something that you knew is that if Joe had followed you to your office it meant that he thought this would be the right time to talk to you, and you still donât think now is the right time to talk.
âJoe?!â you exclaimed after opening your office door. âWhat are you doing here, I thought you and your team wouldâve left the building by now?!â
âI couldnât leave without getting a chance to talk to you.â Joe confessed.
âJoe⊠thereâs nothing for us to talk about?!â you said.
âWhat do you meanâŠâ Joe asks as a confused look appears on his face, âThere is so much we could talk about⊠Itâs been 8 years since weâve talked, itâs clear that a lot of things have happened in the past 8 years!â
you sighed⊠âJoe⊠now itâs not the best time.â
Joe was about to defend the decision that now was the right now, when he heard his name being called from a distance⊠The two of you turned your heads to see his manager walking down the hallway and before Joe could try to speak up again, you interrupted him.
âI think you should goâŠâ you insisted. âGood luck on the AFC Championship game this Sunday! Iâll be rooting for the Bengals to win!â
It broke Joeâs heart as you close the door in his face. He really thought that this was the right opportunity for the two of you to talk, but itâs clear to him now that you wanted to remain professional with him even though the interview between the two of you is done.
Joe was still standing in front of your closed office door when his manger walked up to him⊠His manager didnât hear the short conversation between the two of you, but was curious about what Joe was doing outside of your office door since it had been almost 10 minutes since he left the interview room.
âWhat are you doing?!â his manager asked.
âI was just thanking Y/N for the good interview since she had left the room before i got the chance to thank her.â Joe lied as he started walking away from your office down to go back to the interview room.
âThanks very nice of you.â his manager says smiling as she started to walk down the hallway beside Joe, âLike I said earlier⊠Iâm glad that Y/N was chosen to interview you, Iâve been very impressed with her work for a long time and knew that she would be the perfect interviewer for you before the AFC Championship.â
âWait⊠You were the one of set up the interview between Y/N and I?!â Joe asked as he stopped walking, causing his manger to stop walking.
âIn a way, yes I was.â His manager answered. âThe NFL reached out to me to set up the interview but I made a special request for Y/N to be the journalist to interview you. After you left the interview room, Irene and I were talking about Y/Nâs work ethics and how the NFL journalists board are planning on promoting her soon.â
âThatâs good to hear!â Joe said as the two of them starting walking back to the interview room. When they got back to the room, Joe noticed that most of the camera equipment was no longer set up and that most of the NFL crew who were in the room before he left to find Y/N were no longer in the room and he took that as a sign that it was time to go back to the hotel.
Joe and his team took their time to say their goodbyes to Irene and the rest of the people in the interview room before gathering their belongings and exiting the room to leave the NFL Headquarters because they had a plane flight to catch soon as Joe needed to get back home to Cincinnati to start practicing with the football team to prepare for the AFC Championship.
-
Itâs been over a week since the interview with Joe Burroe happened, and letâs just say that a lot of things have happened throughout the past few daysâŠ
The interview between you and Joe was published the day before the AFC Championship football game and itâs safe to say that football fans really enjoyed the interview. Within the first 24 hours, there were multiple viral tweets and viral tiktoks of clips from the interview.
While the NFL journalism board was very impressed by the success of the interview, it was very overwhelming for you to experience because all of a sudden there were thousands of people following and stalking your social media accounts to see if they can find anything to bring attention too... It didnât take long for football fans to find something to bring attention to; they were able to figure out that you and Joe had known each other from high school due to old photos that were posted onto your Instagram that you didnât delete, but thankfully football fans didnât go stalking your Facebook account or they wouldâve figured out that you and Joe had known each other since childhood.
Luckily, no one from the NFL journalism board has brought it to your attention that they know that you and Joe have some history together⊠You hope that if it is brought up in an future meeting; youâll be able to convince everyone that you and Joe were just high school classmates and not childhood best friends, because you couldnât risk the position of your career.
The other good news is that the Cincinnati Bengals won against the Kanas City Chiefs and are the AFC Champions for the 2021-2022 NFL season and are going against the Los Angeles Rams at the Super Bowl in less than two weeks⊠You have watched many football games throughout your life, but you donât think you had ever been so nervous watching football so it was a relief when the game was finally over.
You were so proud of the Cincinnati Bengals football team, but you were even more prouder for Joe⊠It made you emotional as you watched him speak at the media press conference about how much winning the AFC Championship meant to him and how proud he is of the football team for making it all the way to the Super Bowl after a long football season.
What made the AFC Championship victory even more special is that you go to celebrate the victory in your childhood home in Ohio with your mom, who has been a longtime fan of the Cincinnati Bengals football team since she was a little girl.
The city of Cincinnati was alive as the people were celebrating the AFC Championship victory for days⊠Everyone in the city was wearing their Bengals merchandise and making it known that they were proud of the football team that represents the city.
The AFC Championship victory allowed people to talk with each other no matter where they were⊠They could be at the park, in line at the grocery store, at the bank, or any other place in Cincinnati and the conversation was about the AFC Championship.
Itâs been few days since the AFC Championship football game and there was only a few days left of your visit in Ohio before you had to leave to catch a flight to Los Angeles to prepare for the Super Bowl⊠Due to the success of the interview with Joe Burrow, the NFL wants you to be apart of one of the pre-show broadcasts alongside other NFL journalists which was an opportunity you had never had before.
You were at the kitchen table, proofreading one of your articles on your laptop when you heard the keys unlocking the front door⊠When your mom asked you what you wanted for lunch, you begged her to order your favorite food from the local Mexican Restaurant that you have eaten at in many years and after a while, your mom finally agreed to order and pick the food up at the restaurant.
The front door is unlocked and you hear your momâs footsteps as she walked to the kitchen after closing the front door⊠You can tell by the expression on her face that she is in a very good mood, which wasnât strange to you but it still made you curious as to what is making her so happy on a Thursday afternoon.
âYou will never guess who I ran into at the Mexican Restaurant!â your mom exclaims as sheâs putting the bags of food on the kitchen counter.
âNo⊠Hi, Hey or Hello. Weâre just going straight to the point?! you ask as you start to open the bags of food to search for your plate-lunch.
âJust make a guess.â your mom says, but before you could think of a guess of who your mom met that has her so happy, she decides to give you the answer.
âI ran into Robin!â your mom exclaims, as your heard the name you stopped everything that you were doing to look at your mom with a shocked look on your face.
Since the AFC Championship was bringing the citizens of Cincinnati together in union; itâs no surprise that after 8 years, two mothers who are very supportive of their childâs careers in the NFL were reunited again.
Robin and your mother, Matilda, became close friends when the friendship between you and Joe started and tried to remain close friends even when the two of you grew apart⊠But overtime, it became harder for the two women to remain close friends and grew apart.
âI couldnât believe who it was when I saw her, but then she sat next to me while I was waiting for the food and she recognized me.â your mom explains. âIt has been so long since Iâve seen her, I think the last time was at your College going away party⊠It was just by pure coincidence that Joe begged to have food from the Mexican Restaurant just like you did.â
âOh⊠well thatâs good to hear!â you say, as you grab your plate lunch and walk back to your seat at the kitchen table.
âShe also talked about how much she loved the interview that you and Joe did and that she was so happy that the two of you are friends again!â your mom says as she is sitting down next to you at the kitchen table with her plate lunch.
âMom⊠I donât think Joe and I are friends again, all we did was work together for one thing. I havenât talked to him since the day of the interview.â you explain.
âAccording to Robin, Joe is happy that youâre in his life again.â your mom says.
âI wouldnât say Iâm in his life again⊠Itâs more like I showed up in his life again after 8 years.â you say. âIâm not saying we canât be friends again, itâs more like we havenât had the chance the talk about why we stopped being friends⊠And I donât think weâll have to time to talk before I have to leave Ohio.â
âWell⊠maybe youâll have time to talk to him tonight.â you mom suggests.
âWhat do you mean?!â you ask.
âRobin invited us over to their house to celebrate the success of the interview between you and Joe and to celebrate the AFC Championship victory for the Bengals!â your mom exclaims and once again, you stopped everything that you were doing to look at your mom with a shocked look on your face.
âWait a minute⊠Weâre going to The Burrowâs House tonight?!â you asked.
âYes! Itâs been so long since weâve been at their house, I remember when we used to go over there almost every weekend⊠âNow you have the time to talk to Joe before you leave Ohio maybe you could finally tell him about the crush!â you mom teased.
âMom!â you exclaim.
âWhat?! Do you really think that I didnât know about the crush that you had on him ?!â your mom asked. âI always thought that the two of you wouldâve gotten together by the end of high school⊠I guess life took the two of you on different patches but, now your paths are crossed again and this could be the opportunity for you to confess your feelings.â
âMom⊠I stopped having a crush on Joe years ago when we were in high school.â you admit. âI stopped liking him in that kind of way when I realized that he would never like me in that way.â
Your mom reach for your hand to give a squeeze of comfort before letting go and then she responds âDarling, I watched the two of you grow up from being young kids to young adults. I promise that even if he didnât like you a romantic way, he likes you in a special way⊠And I watched the interview, I could see his eyes light up when talking to you just like his eyes lit up when he was younger. I donât think 8 years apart changed anything for the two of you; I think you just have to be smart on how you want to handle the universe giving the two of you a second chance.â
You sat in silence to take a moment to think about what your mom just said as she stand up to bring both of your plate-lunches to the kitchen counter since the two of you were finished eating lunch⊠When she walks back to the kitchen table, she gives you a back hug and a kiss on the forehead and you smile at her.
âIn a few hours weâll leave to go to The Burrowâs Head, Robin gave me her new phone number so Iâll text her to see if she needs us to pick up something from the store after we leave our house.â your mom says.
âAlright! Thatâs sounds like a good plan!â you exclaim, then your mom walks out of the kitchen to go into the living room as you grabbed your laptop to start working on proofreading your articles before you have to start getting ready to go to The Burrowâs House.
-
The hours of the afternoon went by fast and a wave of nostalgia hits you harder than you could expect as you and your mom are walking up the pavement towards the front door of The Burrow House⊠It has been years since youâve walked along the pavement, but you still feel like the little girl who is on her way to The Burrow House for a play date with her best friend.
When the two of you walk up the patio steps to reach the front door of The Burrow House, before your mom could knock, the front door is already started to openâŠâMatilda! Y/N!â Robin exclaimed after she opened the door and moving to her left side to let the two of you in the house âIt is so good to see the two of you again!â
âIt feels like itâs been forever since weâve been here!â your mom exclaims, pulling Robin into a hug.
When the hug between then is over, Robin looks over to you and smiles with tears forming in her eyes.
âY/N! Itâs been way to long since Iâve seen you!â Robin exclaims, pulling you into a tight hug. âItâs so good to see you, I missed you so much!â
âI missed you too.â you say, as you start to get emotional as well. Itâs been so long since youâve seen Robin and youâve always considered her to be another guardian in your life that you could trust.
âWhen Joe told me that you were the one to be interviewing him before the AFC Championship, I didnât believe him!â Robin exclaims as the two of you are pulling away from the hug. âAnd then I watched the interview and still couldnât believe it, I was just so happy to see the two of you together again!â
As the three of you walk out of the front door hallway, youâre looking around the house to try and see if there are any differences. While there are a few differences that are easier to recognize such as some new furniture and decor items, new photos in the picture frames, and the new wooden floors⊠There is still the sense of familiarity that causes a heavy feeling in your chest.
âIs that Matilda and Y/N I see?!â a recognizable voice loudly asks that causes you to jump and turn around.
âJimmy!â your mom exclaims as the two of them walk towards each other to hug. âItâs so good to see you!â
âI didnât believe Robin when she told me that she saw you earlier today!â Jimmy says. âI canât believe youâre here again in our house after all of these years!â
Since your dad had passed away when you were a toddler, Jimmy was someone that you always considered to be a father figure in your life. Whether you were having car troubles or had a clogged drain, Jimmy was always there to help you and your mom out whenever it was needed.
When your mom and Jimmy pulled away from the hug, Jimmy immediately pulls you into a hug and you couldnât help but get emotional once again of being reunited with people you love in The Burrow House.
âItâs so good to see you again!â Jimmy exclaimed, as the two of you pulled away from the hug. âLook at you! Look how much youâve grown, I canât believe itâs been so long since Iâve seen you!â
âItâs good to see you too Jimmy!â you say.
You continue to look around the house as the three of you make your way into the living room, you noticed that there was no sight of Joe yet which made you wonder if he was home⊠It was hard for you to not start overthinking that Joe left the house because he didnât want to see you again after the way you acted on the day of the interview. You hope Joe was smart to realize that you did want to talk to him, you just didnât want to have the conversation at your work place.
âWhere is Joe?!â your mom asked as the two of you sit in the coach. âI assumed he would be here because after all⊠this is a dinner to celebrate the success of the interview and the AFC Championship victory!â
âJoe is stopping at the store to buy the ingredients for salad that I forgot before coming over to the house⊠I was so focus on getting the ingredients for my lasagna that I forgot the salad!â Robin exclaimed. âHe should here soon because he texted me that he left his house almost 15 minutes ago, I know heâs excited to see Y/N.â
Your cheeks turned red as you blushed and looked down at your hands to fidget with your rings. You couldnât help but feel like a little girl with the biggest crush on Joe again⊠You didnât know if loved or hated how Joe is able to have so much control over how you feel like he did when the two of you were growing up.
While your mom, Robin, and Jimmy were engaging in conversation; you sat and listened as you look at the collage of framed photos that were nailed wall ⊠There were a few new framed photos like from Joeâs college graduations and NFL football games, but the majority of the pictures on the wall you recognized.
A few minutes later, all three of you looked towards the hallway after hearing the front door was being unlocked which meant that Joe was home⊠Your fingers started to fidget with your rings as you began to feel so nervous to the point where you think you are more nervous to see Joe in his childhood home then when you found out that you had to interview Joe.
It didnât take long for Joe to walk into the living room with grocery bags hanging from his arm as he goes to say a quick hello and giving a hug to his parents before walking over to the couch. âHello Miss Matilda!â Joe exclaims as your mom stands up from her spot on the couch to give him a hug.
âHello Joe!â your mom says, as the two of them are hugging. âItâs so good to see you after so many years! Look how handsome youâve grown up to be!â
âThank you.â Joe said, as they pulled away from the hug. âItâs good to see you too!â
When Joe looks over at you and smiles as you stand up to hug him, you can feel your heart beating fast⊠The high didnât last long since you didnât want to make things awkward in front of your mom and his parents.
âItâs good to see you again Y/N.â Joe says as the two of you sit next to each other on the couch with some space in between the two of you.
âItâs good to see you again too.â you reply, as cross one leg over the other to get comfortable on the couch.
âJoe⊠I think you should bring the grocery bags to the kitchen.â your mom says, as she points to the grocery bag that was still hanging from Joeâs arm.
âOh! I forgot that was thereâŠâ Joe exclaims. âIâll be right back-â
Before Joe could stand up to walk the kitchen, Robin stops his actions. âJust hand me the bags, I was about to walk to the kitchen to check on the lasagna⊠How about you and Y/N go to your childhood bedroom to catch up while the three adults talk?!â
âMom⊠Y/N and I are adults.â Joe says as he hands his mom the grocery bags before she walks out of the living room and into the kitchen.
âJoe⊠You know that the two of you will always be a kids in your motherâs eyes.â Jimmy states.
âAnd in my eyes as wellâŠâ your mom says. âI just canât believe the two of you have grown up so quickly. I remember when the two of you were just little kids playing on the elementary schoolâs playground.â
âDonât start bringing up their childhood memories or else Iâm going to start getting emotional.â Robin yells from the kitchen as she can overhear the conversation.
âItâs more like sheâs going to start getting emotional again.â Jimmy whispers, âI had to stop her from going her from going through all of the photo albums.â
âI do plan on going through those photos albums tonight with all of us here.â Robin yells from the kitchen, making it known to everyone that she overheard what her husband. âAnd by the way⊠The lasagna should be ready in 30 minutes.â
As your mom decided to go into the kitchen to see if Robin needed help and to continue their conversations from earlier that day⊠Joe instructs you to follow him as the two of you stood up from the coach to walk upstairs to Joeâs childhood bedroom.
When Joe opens his bedroom door, allowing you to walk inside the bedroom first⊠You noticed that nothing has changed since high school; the furniture is the room were the same and all of his posters of Star Wars and his favorite NFL Teams were still on the wall.
âIâm surprised to see nothing has changed at all.â you say as you sit on the bed while still looking around the bedroom, trying to find something thatâs changed.
âWell⊠I moved out after high school and we already have a guest room in the house, so there was really no point of changing anything.â Joe answers, while sitting next to you. âItâs weird walking into this room because I feel like I time-traveled back to my childhood.â
âThere definitely was this weird feeling of nostalgia that hit me when I walked into the room.â you said.
The two of you sat in silence for a few minutes, with Joe looking at the floor while fidgeting with the bracelets on his wrists while you are still looking around the room⊠Itâs been 8 years since youâve been in this bedroom and everything felt so familiar.
When you look at the framed photos that are on Joeâs dresser, one of the framed photos caught your eyes which causes you to stand up from your spot on the bed to get a better look of the photo⊠Joe watched as you pick up the framed photo and smile.
âI didnât know you framed this photo of us!â you ask, as you hold up the framed photo for him to see.
âYeah⊠Itâs one of my favorite photos of us.â Joe answers. âI just didnât know it would be our last photo.â
You frowned as you look down at the framed photo. The photo in the frame was of the two of you at your high school graduation, neither of you knew at the same time that it would be your last photo together.
Your heart sank to your stomach, you didnât mean for your friendship to end the way it did⊠The two of you just didnât know how to communicate with each other due to the long distance of him in Ohio while you were in another state because of college.
âIâm sorry Joe.â you say, putting the picture frame back onto his dresser and then walking to the bed, sitting back down in your spot. âIâm sorry for a lot of thingsâŠâ
âThereâs nothing you need to apologize forâŠâ Joe said.
âYes there is!â you exclaimed. âOur friendship ended because we were terrible at communicating with each other because of long distance and then when you try to talk to me, I told you that there was nothing for us to talk about when there is so much I have to say to you!â
âYou donât need to apology for anything.â Joe says. âIf anything I should apologize⊠You always tried to reach out to me to talk to me when I was at Ohio State and I never responded because I was busy doing nothing important. Iâm the reason our friendship ended.â
âIâm not going to let you blame yourself.â you say as you scooched over to where Joe was sitting while placing your hand on top of his hand and giving you a smileâŠ. Joe gave you a smile right back which causes your heart to start beating fast in your chest again and when you take your hand off of Joeâs hand, you swear you saw the smile on his face disappear for a second.
âAnd donât say that our friendship ended⊠I donât like the sound of that, itâs makes it sound like there was a big fight or a betrayal.â you say. âLetâs just say that our friendship took a break.â
âA break in our friendship does sound better than saying our friendship ended⊠because weâre friends again right?!â Joe asked.
âYeahâŠâ you sighed. âJust friends.â
There was a confused look on Joeâs face because of the way you responded. âIs there something wrong with us being friends?!â he asked. âYouâre not going to risk your job because of our friendship right⊠I wouldnât want to put you in that position.â
âNo⊠No!â you say defensively. âThereâs nothing wrong with us being friends.â
âYouâre fidgeting with your rings Y/N.â Joe says. âYou always fidget with your jewelry when youâre nervous.â
You didnât realize what you were doing until you looked down at your hands to see that you are fidgeting with your rings... The fact Joe knows your cues for when youâre nervous just proves that he knows you so well after all of these years even when youâve been apart.
âWhat are you nervous about?!â Joe asked. âAre you nervous about us being friends again because I promise that we wonât have another break in our friendship ever again.â
âIâm not worried about us being friends again for the reasons you think.â you reply. âI just donât know if I can handle us just being friends again.â
âWhat do you mean?!â Joe asked, because he is so confused on why you are nervous to be friends again.
âI had a crush on you during our years in elementary school and middle school.â you confessed.
âWait a minute⊠You had a crush on me when we were kids?!â Joe asked. You slowly nodded your head.
âWow⊠I never realized it.â Joe surprisingly exclaimed.
âWait⊠You never knew?!â you asked.
âNo⊠I swear. I never knew about the crush that you had on me.â Joe said in disbelief.
âI thought it was obvious that I had a crush on you because everyone pointed it out to me.â you said.
âSo⊠You only had a crush on me when we were in elementary school and middle school. Did the crush go away when we got to high school.â Joe asked.
âAll those years I thought it was a silly little crush but then we got to high school⊠you started flirting and dating around with other girls and thatâs when I thought that Iâll never have any chance of romance with you so I did everything that I could do to get rid of the feelings I had for you. It took a long time but by the end of high school, I didnât have any romantic feeling towards you.â you confessed.
âOhâŠâ Joe sighed. âBecause when we got to high school, thatâs when I started to have a crush on you.â
The expression on your face was an expression that Joe couldnât understand⊠He didnât know if you were confused or surprised at his confession.
âYou had a crush on me in high school?!â you asked.
Joe nodded his head and the expression on your face showed him that you were even more confused and surprised than before⊠âWait⊠but you were always flirting with other girls and going on dates, why were you doing all of that when you had a crush on me?!â
âWhen I realized that I had a crush on you, I didnât think that you and a crush on me⊠So I tried hanging out with other girls and flirting with them to try and distract myself from the crush I had on you so that I wouldnât ruin our friendship.â Joe admitted.
âOhâŠâ you said.
âBut then during our senior year⊠I realized that I couldnât keep it a secret because it was tearing me apart on the inside. So I had made the decision to confess my crush on you after our high school graduation.â Joe confessed. âBut then after our high school graduation, you told me that you would be going to a college out of state and I didnât want to confess my crush to you incase it would change your mind about going to a college out of state because I didnât want you to stay in Ohio just for me.â
You turned to look at the framed photo of the two of you at your high school graduation that was on Joeâs dresser and your heart sank to your stomach⊠When you turn around to look at Joe, you see the sorrow expression on his face.
âI wish you wouldâve told me.â you say.
âWhy?!â Joe bitterly asked. âSo that you would tell me that you didnât have a crush on me or that you would give up your dreams of going to a college out of the state to stay with me in Ohio!â
âJoe⊠we couldâve worked something out.â you say.
âY/N⊠It was so hard for me to communicate with you after you left Ohio. I still had a crush on you when we got to college, it was getting harder and harder to live my life without you in it while having this big secret to myself. So I stopped our communication and I regretted it every single day for 8 years so thatâs why I blame myself for our friendship ending.â Joe said.
âI told you not to blame yourself and I told you not to say that our friendship ended.â you muttered.
There was a few minutes of silence between the two of you. Joe didnât know what to say next, he confessed his truth just like you confessed your truth⊠Just a few minutes ago; the two of you were on the same page of being friends again but now, the two of you didnât know if there could be a chance of a friendship. ïżŒ
As the two of you sit in silence, you could hear your parents voices downstairs in the kitchen as their laughing about something that was said in their conversation⊠You thought about what your mom said in her kitchen when you were nervous about talking to Joe about the history between the two of you.
âI donât think 8 years apart changed anything for the two of you; I think you just have to be smart on how you want to handle the universe giving the two of you a second chance.â
This moment was the universe giving you and Joe another chance; not another chance to be friends, but another chance for the two of you to be together⊠You had your first chance when the two of you were in high school, and now 8 years later you have another chance to make sure that your paths are crossed forever.
âI thought that those feelings went away forever, but then when I saw you for the first time in 8 years⊠I realized that those romantic feelings never really went away.â you confessed. âThatâs why Iâm nervous to be friends again, because I canât handle us just being friends because I want you in my life as mine.â
Joe didnât know what to say as he blinked a few times and pinched himself on the wrist to make sure that he was dreaming⊠Because how was he w supposed to believe that after 8 years, the girl of his dreams was right in front of him confessing that her feelings for him never went away after all of this time apart.
Since he didnât know what to say, Joe decided to let his actions speak lounder than words as he reach over to place the palms of his hands on your cheeks as he pulled you close to him, kissed you and hummed in glee when you kissed him back with no hesitation.
As the two of you were kissing, your hands were wondering from his shoulder to gripping the material of his shirt⊠While his hands were moving from your cheeks to your arms and waist to pull you into his lap as your arms were wrapped around his neck.
Things turned from an innocent kiss to a make-our session, the grip Joeâs hand had on your waist as he started to slowly rock your hips back and forth causing him to groaned from the pleasurable pressure.
The two of you were in your own world and forgot that the both of you are currently making out in Joeâs childhood bedroom while your parents are downstairs⊠In the moment, the two of you felt like teenagers who are sneaking around and hiding your relationship; When in reality the two of you are adults that had been hiding your true feelings for each other for over 10 years and are making up for lost time.
As the make out session was getting more heated, with your lips now kissing his neck as he groaned whispered sweet nothings under his breathe while sitting controlling the rhythm of your hips on his lap⊠The only thoughts on your mind right now were thinking about how you could pleasure him in other ways.
âJoe! Y/N! Dinner is ready!â Robin exclaims.
His motherâs voice causes the two of you to snap back into reality as the two of you freeze in the moment and realize where you are⊠You pull back from your spot to see his face again, with his hands still gripping your waist. When you look at his neck, you spot a few small bruises that were barely noticeable right now.
âWeâll be downstairs in a minute!â Joe yells.
âI guess we have one minute to look like we havenât been making out for almost 10 minutes.â you whisper. âWe better hurry up and fix ourselves up before one of our moms comes to see whatâs taking us so long.â
The two of you quickly start fixing yourselves up, as you had to fix your lipstick and blouse while Joe had to fix his pants to try and hide his boner⊠When the two of check the mirror and see that you both look out together, it was time to go to the kitchen for dinner.
As the two of you exist his room and start to walk down the hallway to the stairs, Joe stop in front of you⊠âI want to say, before we go downstairs⊠I donât want what just happened to be a one time thing⊠I want us to make this relationship work.â he stated. âWe can talk more about it later but I just wanted you to know this before you start overthinking everything.â
âOkay⊠I understand.â you answer. âWeâll talk about things later and work it out between us.â
âThatâs good to hear.â Joe says. âI canât lose you again for another 8 years because of lost communication.â
You gave Joe a small frown as you lean up to give him a quick kiss. âWeâre never going to lose each other again.â you promised.
Joe nodded his head and then the two of you continued to walk downstairs to make your way into the kitchen where you say your mom and his parents preparing their dinner plates.
âI was just about to go upstairs to tell the both of you that itâs dinner time!â Robin exclaims, âI guess nothing really has changed between the two of you in 8 years.â
Joe and you looked at each other and smiled, knowing that while Robin is right about how nothing has changed between the two of you in 8 years, there are some things that have changed between the two of you⊠but the things that have changed are changing between the two of you for better not for worse.
-
The five of you sat down at the dining room table and ate the lovely dinner of salad and lasagna that Robin has spent hours cooking as you all chatted amongst yourselves about the your careers, the interview, the AFC Championship victory, and the future of what are the plans after football season ends.
Robin stuck to her word because after everyone was finished eating dinner and the kitchen was cleaned with the plates and utensils were in the dishwasher⊠Everyone was gathered in the living room with photo albums in their hands, looking at all the photo memories throughout your childhoods.
You and Joe were sat close to each other on the couch as the two of you were looking at a photo album with photos on every page throughout your elementary school years⊠As Joe was flipping through the pages, one of the photo caught your eye which causes you to grab Joeâs hand to stop him from flipping the pages.
âI forgot about this photo⊠This was always my favorite photo of us!â you exclaim, pointing to the photo. It was a photo from a Halloween Party that happened when the two of you were in 2nd grade, Joe was dressed up as a NFL football player and you were dressed up as Princess Belle as the two of you were smiling big while holding up a book and a football.
âWhich photo are you talking about?â your mom asks and Joe holds up the photo album to show her as you point to the picture since she is sitting in the recliner across from the two of you in the living room.
âThat is such a cute photo of the two of you!â Robin exclaims. âThat is one my favorite photos as well!â
âI definitely will be framing the photo.â Joe whispers to you as he puts the photo album down in his lap and started flipping through the pages again.
As everyone looked through the photo albums and talked about the memories. You couldnât help but look around the room and smile because for the first time in 8 years, two families were reunited as one family.
If there is one thing that youâve learned; is that when the universe gives you another chance, you take that chance⊠The two paths you and Joe had taken since high school graduation have lead you back to each other. Now you want to know what forever feels like with Joe as your two paths cross over and become one path that the two of you will walk on together.

Let's Dance
Summary: Y/N and Angus at a frat party. Shenanigans ensue.
Word Count: 4k
MDNI because of directions this will go in the future.
Authors Note: This will probably start a wee series of college age Angus and Y/N having some classic college adventures. Also was really hard to figure out what fraternity I don't HATE based on irl experiences. DU is fine but on god fuck Delta Chi and fuck SNU. That's all <3 hope you enjoy. (also I said I'd get this out today and I still got 30 minutes to spare! go me)
Down the hall you heard your friend, Abby, shriek as another girl cackled at her misfortune. You simply shook your head at yourself and continued to try and get the perfect curl in your hair without burning it all off in the process. It was the second Friday of the Fall term which meant the honorable men of Delta Upsilon invited your, and many other, sororities to their house for their yearly toga party. It was how they properly introduced their newest men to everyone. You had found a pale yellow sheet in the bottom of your suitcase that you definitely hadnât been saving just for this occasion, even since you heard about it last year. You werenât one for attention, especially from fraternity brothers, but so what, you wanted to look good if you were going to look silly at the same time.Â
âY/N please youâve been in there for an hour, letâs go,â Abby whined through the door following it with some demonic scraping from her nails. You laughed and set your curling iron down, deciding this would just have to be good enough. You opened the door to see her nearly tumble in after leaning on the door to wait for you.
âOh come on it wasnât that long,â you laughed as you gently pushed her arm.Â
âYouâre right itâs actually been five hours. For fucks sake all the cute boys will be gone by the time we get there!â she groaned, throwing her hand against her forehead dramatically. You scoffed and rolled your eyes as you walked into your room to grab your bag and coat.Â
âTheyâre frat brothers, you arenât missing out I promise,â you mutter as you throw your keys and lipgloss into your bag. You hesitate before admittedly throwing a condom into your bag, trying to do so out of view of Abby before she crucified you for just calling the boys unworthy.Â
âBut Jake was so nice to me during football season last week,â Abby continued as she flopped onto your bed.
âWhat were you wearing?â you asked, putting your arms carefully into your coat to try and avoid running your perfect knots keeping the sheet up and over you.Â
âMy cheerleading uniform but I hardly see how thatâs relevant,â she answered, raising an eyebrow as she lifted her head. You zipped up your jacket and shrugged.
â âM just saying there may have been some ulterior motives,â. She threw a pillow from your bed at you which you laughed at and dodged before it thunked to the floor. âAlright sleepyhead letâs go I hear weâre late,â you said as you turned out the door. She quickly jumped up and trailed close behind you.Â
Abby was a year younger than you, it was her first year in college and you had been trying to keep a close, but not too close eye on her. There were certain mistakes everyone in college had to make once, just to learn how to be a human, but there were other ones you figured you could save her from. One of these being, frat boys.Â
You two walked down the cold Boston suburban-esque street, her bouncing off the sidewalk beside you listing off everyone sheâd gotten to know this week. You could only nod and laugh as you tried to figure out how she wasnât freezing. It was a Friday night so you could hear music and shouts coming from several of the houses you passed, but it wasnât until you got to Greek row it got real rambunctious. Even outside of the Sigma Tau Epsilon house, a large horde of white toga-ed folks were forming. Part of you just wanted to scurry back home and call it a night, but you knew once you were a few drinks in youâd warm up to the idea of socializing. It was just going to be a grin-and-bear-it situation until then. Before you could even track her down, Abby had started talking to a tall blonde guy who was certainly a fifth year. You grabbed her wrist and dragged her away from him.Â
âAt least talk to someone reasonable for your age,â you chided her.Â
âOh come on mom,â she whined, but happily followed you dragging her inside. Inside was thick with the waft of alcohol, cigarettes, weed, and BO. As expected of course. You dragged her inside and threw your bag into a safe looking corner and draped your coat over it. People didnât usually take shit unless it looked valuable.Â
âOkay- you ready for this?â you asked, turning to your bright-eyed and optimistic friend. She eagerly nodded. You couldnât help but smile at her. You were in her shoes only a year ago. The two of you wander into the kitchen area to try and steal some drinks from the coolers before any of the boys could catch you. You tossed your friend a Coorâs and cracked open your own before weaving between the robed frat boys and girls to try and nudge your way to the basement where the music was thumping from. It was Marvin Gaye incredibly, and impressively loud.
You start to make your way down the stairs before you realized Abby wasnât trailing behind you. Your head snapped back and found her somehow talking to the Jake boy. How she did that was beyond you, but you did have to admit Jake wasnât terrible looking. At least if she was going to be infatuated he was going to be cute. Her hand touched his bicep as she laughed at his joke, making eye contact with you and shooting you a wink. Okay, she was fine. You raised your drink in silent cheers before continuing down the stairs.Â
If upstairs was hot, the basement was hellish. You could feel the speakers in your bones as everyone stood dancing and gyrating around each other in the middle of the basement. Maybe it was good it was a toga party, less clothes to stink up the place. Most of the girls seemed to at least figure to wear a bra underneath. Others seemed to be a little less fortunate as they tried to cover themselves and retie their sheets. You find yourself pressed up to the side of the basement, enjoying the coolness of the wall, albeit fleeting. You nodded your head to the music as you sipped the beer. It wasnât great, but it would get the job done to get your guard down a little.Â
âHey,â.
You nearly jump out of your skin as the new presence beside you scares the living shit out of you. Even though it was a crowded basement, someone standing specifically besides you really snapped you out of your wallflower state. You nearly spit out your beer but manage to keep it in as a last ditch at saving grace.
Youâre glad you did as you look over to see who so rudely scared you. He was tall with a disheveled and sweaty mess of curly brown hair that stuck to his forehead and the side of his face. Precariously perched on top of the nest of hair was a wreath of (spray painted) gold laurels, an attempt to stick to the theme with the white bed sheet that hung off his lanky frame. He was looking down at you with a smirk plastered to the left corner of his face. âSorry, didnât mean to scare you,â he laughed with a raspy-esque voice, no doubt from yelling over music. He didnât look like the other frat boys you were so used to.
â âS alright,â you say as you instinctively tuck some of your loose hair behind your ear as a nervous habit, looking up at him. He leaned against the wall and cocked his head to the side.
âWhatâs your name?â he asked. You felt your stomach flip again, cursing the fact that you were just so critical of Abby falling head over heels in a single conversation. It was something about him that wasnât like other frat boys youâd met. He wasnât groping you or slurring his words. He was startlingly present. He also looked like a pipe cleaner compared to the jocks that usually joined greek life. It intrigued you.Â
âY/N, what about you?â you answered, leaning forward on your heels a little. You could blame the noise. He nodded, and kept staring into your eyes, like he was analyzing everything about you.
âAngus,â he said, leaning his head forward a little. Definitely because of the noise. âDo we have Greco Literature together?â he asked, â you look insanely familiarâ. You felt your face heat up a little as you realized you totally did have class with him, and had just never noticed him.
âAt 10:00am? With Dr. Moreland?â you asked as you copied him and leaned against the wall on your side now. He nodded, his eyes not leaving you.
âReally interesting stuff huh?â he said. You couldnât tell if he was joking and you raised an eyebrow before he laughed. âIâm fucking with you, that man teaches with a stick up his ass,â. You chuckled as you took another sip of your drink before offering Angus some. He took a long swig before handing it back to you.Â
âWhat the hell man you drank it all,â you fakely scoffed as you felt how light the can was now. He grinned mischievously,
âDonât act like you didnât steal that from here,â he said as he returned your raised eyebrow. You couldnât help but bite the inside of your lip as he looked at you like that. Maybe you had a weakness for brown eyes.
âYou DUâs are all the same,â you said, intrigued to see how heâd react. His face didnât move an inch.
âGeneralizations? Really? You seemed so smart for a sorority girl,â he remarked, pouting his lips. You opened your mouth to protest before realizing he was pulling your leg. You hit his arm instead.
âYouâre just waiting for this all to become an orgy down here with all these bed sheets,â you said, leaning in again, looking up at Angus through your eyelashes.
âItâs not gonna be an orgy, itâs a toga party,â he said, drawing out the words, moving his head only to a few inches from yours, that fucking know it all smirk back on his face. âYours looks nice though,â he added on, as he held some of the fabric between his long fingers. You tried not to overthink it.Â
âThank you. I came to last years and learned my lesson,â you said as you heard another scream from a poor girl losing their top. He laughed as he turned towards the scream.
âSo youâre a sophomore huh?â he asked, turning his attention back to you.
âDonât tell me youâre a freshman,â you said, faking that you were aghast at the idea. He rolled his eyes at your dramatics.
âYeah, but only because my prep school wouldnât let me graduate on time. Iâm 20 next month,â he explained, obviously not wanting to get anything misunderstood. As long as he wasnât 18 youâd be able to be at peace with yourself. He opened his mouth to add something before one of his frat brothers grabbed him and quickly whispered something in his ear, you awkwardly looked back to the mass of dancing limbs, trying not to notice Angus watching you as he listened to his friend. He firmly punched his friend in the side as he laughed off nearly tripping over his own feet, but not without leaving Angus with a bottle of Double Diamond which he somehow expertly struck against the wall to pop the cap off of. You kept how impressed you were on the inside as you watched him quickly try to consume all the beer before it foamed out the top. You tried not to watch his Adamâs apple bob as he somehow drank it all in one go. Was it weird if you said you were impressed and slightly turned on by it?Â
The piano of Louie Louie distracted you. Angus gingerly set the bottle on the ground and grabbed your hand.Â
âDance with me?â he asked, cheeks rosy from chugging the beer. You couldnât help but nod and smile as he pulled you into the crowd. Before you tumbled to the floor at the pull he placed a hand on your hip to steady you before quickly removing it. He mouthed the word sorry to you. God dammit could he try to be unlikable.
You laughed as you began to move your body in rhythm with the music, raising your arms above your head both for effect and also because there was simply no space. You felt Angusâs hands return to your hips as he moved in sync with you, but kept his distance away from you still. It only was until after the song and you draped your arms around the back of his neck and moved yourself closer so you were pressed up against each other. He looked down at you again with that smirk but it didnât seem judgemental this time.Â
âYou dance with all the girls like this?â you said/shouted into his ears, on your toes to reach his ear.Â
âOnly the ones I like,â he said back into your ear, shivers running down your spine feeling his breath. You laughed and blushed as you tilted your head back so you were looking right up at him. You hand behind his neck ruffled his hair which admittedly did feel sweaty and sticky at this point, but you were over it.
âI like your hair,â you said-shout, still feeling confident and oddly optimistic about this one. He smiled and carefully wound the golden crown that was now flaking off gold specks, out of his hair and placed it gently on top of your head. He looked down at you like you were the only person in the basement and lifted his hand to hold your chin before making eye contact with you for a second. âAre you really a frat brother?â you asked/shouted, locking eyes with him. The familiar mischievous look was back in his eyes as he bit his bottom lip and shook his head no.
âHope thatâs not a dealbreaker,â he said with a flitting wink, leaning closer. You closed the space between you two and sloppily pushed your lips together. Angusâs hands moved to hold both sides of your face as you two continued to kiss in the middle of everything around you. You could taste the beer on his tongue and lips as you continued to push yourself closer against him, feeling him getting hard between you and the bedsheet.Â
You pulled back for air and couldnât help but sheepishly laugh as you laid your head on his chest. You felt his hands holding the middle and small of your back as he looked over the crowd, using his height.Â
âCare to move this elsewhere Y/N, I think my secretâs getting out,â he said into your ear as he tightened his grip around your waist. You can only nod as he grabs your hand and slightly ducks as he tries to blend in with the rest of the crowd. You hold onto the crown with your other hand as you continue laughing, it only getting drowned out by the music. Angus throws a look over his shoulder before speeding his way up the stairs, taking two at a time which causes him to nearly drag you up the stairs as you canât keep up.Â
âY/N?â Abby yells at you from the kitchen, now sitting on the counter with now a swarm of frat boys to her sides talking to her. They all turn to stare at you and Angus.
âWho the hell are you?â one of them yells at Angus as he starts to move. Without a moment wait Angus pulls you again out of the kitchen starting to pick up the pace.
âGet home safe Abby!â you shouted over your shoulder as you followed after Angus, his hand squeezing yours as he navigated the cramped hallway full of couples making out at this point. âI need my bag!â you shouted to Angus as you tried to move towards the living room.Â
âFor Godâs sake woman,â he huffed as he looked back at you, letting your hand go so you could run to grab your stuff. Nearly stumbling into a pile of vomit you reach over and grab your coat and bag before rushing back to Angus who is anxiously checking for any peeved frat boys. You shuffle your coat on as he pushes you out the door hearing the kitchen erupt in, âwhere the fuck did he go?â. The lawn has substantially cleared out by now and the two of you hurry down the steps hand-in-hand again and pick up the pace again as you hear the door slam open.
âYOUâVE BOTH BEEN BLACKLISTED FROM DELTA UPSILON! DONâT EVEN THINK OF COMING BACK YOU LITTLE FREAK,â one of the frat boys yell to you two as you stand across the road on the other side of the street. Instinctively you chuckle again as you wrap your arms around Angusâs side as he places an arm over you and delivers a swift middle finger back to the house.
âWouldnât have even wanted to!â he shouted back, âoh fuck okay I think we should run now,â he quickly added as he saw more frat boys start forming in the doorway, once again grabbing your hand and quickly walking down the block to try and put some distance between you all. Once youâre about a block away he finally slows down and youâre able to keep pace with him. He drapes and arm around you and pulls you closer to him. You slide an arm around the back of his waist.Â
âSo whatâs the truth? Is your name even Angus?â you asked, looking up at him. He snorted and glanced over at you.
âThatâs the truth. The only thing that wasnât the truth is me being in a fraternity. Seems stupid to me, but yâknow-â he trailed off trying to think of the right word, âI can see some of the benefits,â he said as he pulled you a little closer. You sarcastically rolled your eyes, with a grin on your face.Â
âYou just snuck in?â you asked. That took some balls. He coolly shrugged and rolled his head back to look up at the unimpressive overcast night sky.
âEveryone knows about the toga party, all you have to do is dress the part and act like one of emâ. Most of âem are too drunk to realize they donât know you,â he explained, using his free hand to gesture into the air. He paused and turned you towards him in the middle of an empty road before pressing his lips against yours to which you hummed happily against his.Â
âWhat was that for?â you asked once you two pulled back. He shrugged and looked back to the road, resuming his hold around your shoulder.
âMaking sure youâre real,â he said, as if it was obvious. You couldâve melted right on the spot, but your legs were so tired at this point in your shoes you knew you wouldâve never stood up. Your face heated up though as you leaned your head against the side of his chest.
âDo you know what way youâre walking?â you asked once you regained your senses.Â
âNo clue,â he admitted without breaking stride.Â
âIâm in Tri Delta. Walk me back home,â you say to which he dutifully nods. The rest of the walk back to your sorority house consists mostly of you two talking about how terrible your class that you share is and how you promise to sit by each other to keep each other awake. The two of you leaning into each other, bed sheets still wrapped around in loosening knots. Eventually you both stop outside of your sorority house. Angus turns you so youâre facing him and places a hand on each of your shoulders.
âI canât come in I suppose can I?â he asks. You shake your head no.
âNo boys in the rooms,â you say.Â
âFigures. Itâs how you keep these looking soâŠnice,â he says, looking at your house.
âI also donât just go sleeping around with anyone,â you add, pointing into his chest with your index finger.Â
âBut Iâm not just anyone Y/N, weâre accomplices now, weâre wanted criminals, weâre-â he continues as he gently shakes your shoulders to prove his point, but you cut him off with a kiss before pulling back. He drops his hands and moves to put them in coat pockets he realizes he doesnât have. He folds his arms instead. âCan I take you out for coffee on Monday? After class?â he asks, finally sounding genuine for the first time tonight, his voice finally sounding earnest. You scrunch up your face as you put a hand to your chin acting like youâre giving it immense thought. âOh come on, that was a fun night, imagine what we can do when we arenât in bed sheets,â he says to which you slap his arm at. âNot like that you perv oh my god I just mean-â he stammers over his words realizing his mistake.
âAngus, Iâd love to,â you answer before the poor boy runs out of words. You quickly give him a kiss on his cheek before turning to go inside your house. Before you take another step he grabs your waist and spins you back into his lips as you throw your arms back behind his neck, deepening the kiss, feeling his tongue meet with yours.
âI canât believe youâre just leaving me with that,â he grumbles as you step apart.Â
âHush you horn dog,â you say as you shoo him off, âIâll see you Monday, get home safe,â. He stretches his arms above his head as he prepares for his walk back.
âFineeee,â he dramatically sighs, ânow get inside so I can leave,â. You chuckle and turn away to the door before waving as you step inside. He waves back and starts walking down the street as you close the door behind you.Â
At least he wasnât really a frat boy.

A Match Made in England
Episode 1: Just two kids from england; the ups and downs of football...
A/N: This got put as mature (i have no idea why hahah) so I've re-uploaded it to make sure it's appropriate.
Series Masterlist | Next part
Episode 1
Settling into the inviting cushions, you became a tableau of spring comfort. The distant hum of a camera being activated blended seamlessly with the rustling leaves outdoors. Levi, the seasoned producer with a knack for drawing out personal narratives, sat across from you. His demeanor was calm yet engaging, a reassuring presence amid the studio's buzzing equipment.
"Okay, where to begin..." you mused aloud.
Levi nodded thoughtfully. "What about signing for England?"
The scene transitions to a bustling pressroom years earlier, where a 17-year-old you, with long, flowing hair cascading down your back, sat nervously next to Sarina Weigman after being signed to the England national team.
Reporters leaned forward eagerly, their cameras clicking and pens poised.
One interviewer asked, "Y/N, you're the youngest Lioness to join the senior team. Do you feel the weight of expectations?"
With a shy smile, your long hair framing your face, you responded, "Honestly, it's an honor to be here. I'm just going to give my best and learn from these incredible players and coaches."
Another reporter chimed in, "Y/N, what do you think you bring to the team at such a young age?"
You took a moment, glancing at Sarina for reassurance. "I think I bring a fresh perspective and a lot of energy. I know I have a lot to learn, but I'm eager to soak up as much as I can from my teammates and coaches. Being young means I have time to grow and improve."
The flashback showed you nervously twiddling your fingers as more questions came your way.
"Do you feel any pressure considering your brother's legacy in football?" one reporter asked, the question hanging heavily in the air.
Your smile faltered for a brief second before you composed yourself. "Of course, there's always pressure when you're following in the footsteps of someone successful. But I'm here to make my own mark and contribute to the team in my own way."
Cutting to a childhood flashback, you and your older brother Noah were seen playing football in the backyard, his encouraging voice guiding your early steps in the sport.
Back in the present, you ran your fingers through your now slightly shorter hair, reflecting on that moment with Levi."
"I probably would've lied back then and said I had nothing to prove. At the time, I truly hated people who asked me about my age," you laughed. "I hated people knowing I was so much younger than everyone else, you know. I guess I felt belittled and also very undermined."
Levi looked intrigued. "How come?"
You sighed, thinking back. "I don't know, when I look back on it now, l'm like damn, you know. I was just a kid. The amount of pressure I was underâ"
The little screen continued to display snippets of that press conference, overlaying the commentary, "Y/N Morrison, only 17 when she first started playing for England. Now, at 19, she stands as the youngest player in the senior squad."
Levi leaned forward with genuine curiosity. "Can you tell us more about Noah? How did he influence your journey in football?"
Another childhood flashback played out, this time of you and Noah practicing together, his supportive presence shaping your early skills and love for the game.
Levi continued, his voice gentle and probing. "Do you think some of that pressure came from your brother and the legacy he left behind?"
An awkward pause hung in the air before you let out a light laugh, breaking the tension. "Uh, yeah. Haha- I don't think being the sister of an already well-known Morrison did me any favors, no."
As the crew members bustled around, adjusting cameras and discussing logistics for the next segment, you took a moment to collect yourself, reflecting on the profound journey you had just shared and preparing to continue with the interview.
The screen seamlessly transitioned into a poignant montage. One particular video clip unveiled a pivotal moment in your shared narrative. It was a chilly evening at a local pitch, where a younger you, barely a teenager, kicked the ball around with a sense of determination mirrored in Noah's watchful gaze. This seemingly ordinary moment turned out to be a precursor to the journey that awaited you.
The video shifted to a rainy afternoon at a school tournament, where Noah, now a mentor as well as a brother, stood on the sidelines cheering your every move.
The camera caught a glimpse of Noah sharing insights and encouragement, laving the foundation for a dvnamic that encouragement, laying the foundation for a dynamic that extended beyond sibling ties.
As the montage continued, it unfolded a series of snapshots: Noah consoling you after a tough loss, the two celebrating victories with infectious joy, and the subtle exchange of nods and smiles that spoke of an unspoken understanding. Your story went beyond the spotlight, a tale of shared passion, shared defeats, and the unwavering support that siblings uniquely understand. Y/N Morrison, shaped by the echoes of Noah's footsteps, began to carve her own narrative in the beautiful game.
The scenes shifted to a day of reckoning, the moment you received your call-up to the national team. Noah, now a seasoned player, embraced you in a tight hug, the pride in his eyes telling a story of shared dreams realized. And then, the turning point. Y/N Morrison, amidst her brother's legacy, emerged as a rising star in her own right. The torch passed not just through genes but through a bond forged on countless pitches, a bond that shaped you into the player you are today.
In a touching moment, the montage included a clip where, as soon as a match ended, Noah handed his sweat-soaked shirt to youâa symbolic gesture of support and shared triumphs.
As the montage concluded, the screen faded back to the interview room, where your reflective gaze spoke volumes.
Levi, now deeply moved by the narrative that had unfolded, adjusted his notes and looked at you with a newfound respect for your journey.
The interviewer, acknowledging the depth of your shared journey, posed one final question.
Interviewer: "Looking back now, how do you see your role within the legacy you and Noah have created in the football world?"
You, with a thoughtful smile: "I see it as a story still unfolding. Noah laid the foundation, and now I'm building upon it. lum-"
Levi nodded approvingly, allowing the weight of your words to resonate in the room. However, the interview had ventured into personal territory, and you couldn't shake off the vulnerability that surfaced with the last question.
Emily, noticing your unease, interjected gently, "Why don't we take five, everyone? Y/N, take your time. We can continue whenever you're ready."
You nodded gratefully, feeling a mix of emotions after reliving such intimate moments of your journey.
You walked off the set, feeling a whirlwind of emotions after the intense interview. Emily followed closely behind, her pace matching your thoughtful stride.
"Did I do okay?" You asked with a hint of uncertainty. "I stumbled at the endâ"
"You did great, Y/N! Don't worry," Emily reassured her with a warm smile. "These guys can be quite intense, don't worry I'm sure Jude is in Madrid right now, getting the same level of interrogation. Why don't you wait hereâ" She gestured towards the makeshift living room that had been set up in one of the spare rooms. "I'll call you back in ten?"
You nodded gratefully, finding comfort in Emily's words. You entered the cozy room, furnished with plush cushions and soft lighting, and sat down on the comfortable sofa. The room exuded a sense of calm, a stark contrast to the a stark contrast to the bustling energy of the studio outside.
As you waited, you pulled out your phone and began scrolling through messages. Moments later, a text from Jude popped up.
Jude: Hey there, dove! How's the hot seat treating you?
You grinned at his message, appreciating his attempt to lighten the mood.
Y/N: Surviving so far! They didn't ask me about my secret dance moves yet.
Jude: Phew, dodged one there! Remember, if all else fails, just dazzle them with your best dance move.
You chuckled softly, enjoying your playful banter despite the distance between them. You felt a surge of warmth and affection for Jude, grateful for his ability to make you smile even in challenging moments.
Your messages continued, Jude teasing you about his own interviews and you responding with playful comebacks.
Jude: Hey, have you thought any more about Madrid?
You hesitated, your heart sinking as you read his message.
You took a deep breath before responding.
Y/N: Jude, please. I can't have this conversation again.
Jude: It's been six months, Y/N. First it was the press mania, then it was your sister's baby, now it's this TV show. When are we going to talk about it?
Your fingers hovered over the screen, conflicted emotions swirling inside you.
Y/N: My answer hasn't changed, Jude. I love you, but I love my life here too. Things are finally starting to settle down, andâ
Jude: No, they're not. You're lethargic, you're sitting out almost every game now, you're always not sleeping-
Your heart raced, tears welling up in your eyes. You couldn't bear to have this argument again.
Y/N: I've been helping my sister, Jude.
Jude: But it's not just that, is it? Your barely eating, your constantly distracting yourself with work. You need to take a break.
You felt a pang of guilt. You knew Jude was right, but you weren't ready to face that reality.
Y/N: Jude, I can't have this row again.
Jude: Y/N, I'm trying to be there for you, but you won't let me in!
You closed her eyes, tears streaming down your cheeks as she struggled to find the right words. Your eyes scroll along judes words once more, lethagic, trouble sleeping, weak fitness, trouble eating...
He was right of course. Ever since the end of the world cup, you had become incredibly tired, with limited energy for the basics of tasks. You had made excuses that it was the press interviews, the constant ware and tare of family life and fame, or even sometimes just thinking you weren't getting enough hours. Deep down, you knew it was something more.
As much as you would regret it, there was a part of you that wished it was a ACL injury, something that yes would take time to heal, but could be cured. Atleast you'd know what was wrong with you. Instead whatever kept you up at night, made it difficult to keep down food and made it impossible to stay on top in football games, was tearing both you and your relationship with Jude apart
Setting your phone down on the sofa, you walked over to the kitchenette area to pour herself a glass of water. As you stood there, contemplating your next move, you felt a sudden pang in her abdomenâa sharp cramp that caught you off guard.
You winced, clutching your stomach as you leaned against the counter. It wasn't the first time you'd felt this way lately, but it was a stark reminder of your ongoing health struggles.
Taking a deep breath to steady herself, you returned to the sofa and picked up your phone. With a determined expression, she typed out a message to Jude.
Y/N: Good luck with your match tonight. See you monday
Jude sat in a cozy room tucked away within the Real Madrid training grounds, the distant echoes of his teammates preparing for their final training session before the upcoming match seeping through the slightly ajar door. His phone buzzed incessantly with messages from you. With a faint sigh, he retrieved it from his pocket and read your latest text:
"Good luck with your match tonight. See you Monday x." His jaw tightened in frustration; you had once again changed the subject, avoiding the difficult conversation he knew you were reluctant to have.
"Jude, you still with us?" Romeo's voice cut through his reverie. Jude blinked, refocusing on the Spanish producer seated across from him. "Oh, uh, yeah. Sorry about that." He slipped his phone back into his pocket, mentally shifting gears to engage in the interview.
Romeo chuckled knowingly. "No worries. Let's continue.
Your journey in football-from your early days in Birmingham to now playing for Real Madrid-has been remarkable. How do you reflect on your career so far?"Jude nodded thoughtfully, a flicker of nostalgia in his eyes.
"It's been a whirlwind, mate. Starting out at Birmingham City as a young lad, then moving to Dortmund, and finally landing here at Madrid-it's been nothing short of a dream come true. Each step has taught me invaluable lessons, both on and off the pitch."
Leaning forward with interest, Romeo probed further."You've undoubtedly faced numerous challenges along the way. What would you consider the biggest challenge of your career?"
Jude grinned wryly, his mind drifting momentarily to thoughts of you. "Well, besides dodging defenders on the pitch, adapting to different leagues and cultures has been quite the challenge. Each club has its own unique style and expectations. But hey, I thrive on challenges; they've helped me evolve as both a player and a person."
Romeo's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "And what about the immense pressure of playing for a club as prestigious as Real Madrid? How do you manage that?"
A faint smile tugged at Jude's lips as he thought of his experiences. "Oh, you know, I just pretend I'm still kickin' it back in Brum with me mates. Nah, seriously though, the pressure is immense, but it's also an incredible privilege. Playing for Real Madrid demands peak performance every day. I rely on my training regimen, the banter with my teammates, and saying focused on my goals."
Romeo chuckled at Jude's casual demeanor. "Looking ahead, what are your personal and professional aspirations for the future?"
Jude leaned back, considering. "Well, professionally, I want to keep raising the bar, winning titles with Real Madrid, and maybe snaggin' a few Player of the Year awards along the way. But personally, I want to be there for the people who matter most to me, supporting 'em in every way I can."
Picking up on the personal note, Romeo inquired further.
"Family and relationships seem pivotal in your life. How do you manage to balance the demands of your career with your personal commitments?"
Jude's expression softened with a genuine warmth as he thought of you. "Ah, it's a juggle, mate. But having a strong support system makes all the difference. My family, friends, and my girlfriend-they keep me grounded. Despite the challenges and the distances, we find ways to make it work."
Romeo nodded, impressed by Jude's candid responses.
"Thank you for sharing your journey with us, Jude. It's been a pleasure."
"Cheers, Romeo," Jude replied warmly, though his thoughts were still partly occupied by concerns for you. As the interview concluded, he couldn't shake off the growing determination to support you, despite your stubbornness. It reminded him of the first time he had got sick, a couple weeks after they had moved into your family home.
Jude lay in bed, feeling utterly miserable. His head throbbed, his throat felt like sandpaper, and every muscle ached. He had caught a nasty bug, and it was knocking him down hard. Despite his condition, he had a match later that day, and he knew he had to rally.
You, always the caretaker, had spent the entire morning fussing over him, bringing him tea and making sure he took his medication. You were a natural nurse, your concern evident in the way you flitted around the room, fetching blankets and adjusting pillows.
"You really don't have to stay," Jude protested weakly, though secretly grateful for your presence.
You chuckled softly, brushing his hair back from his forehead. "Of course I do. Who else is going to make sure you don't forget to take your medicine?"
Jude managed a weak smile, reaching out to grasp your hand. "You're too good to me, you know that?"
"Just rest," you insisted, squeezing his hand gently before heading out to run some errands.
The next morning, Jude woke up feeling marginally better but was still under the weather. You, on the other hand, woke up feeling awful. Your head pounded, your nose was stuffed, and you felt like you hadn't slept at all. Despite feeling under the weather, you stubbornly insisted on going about your day as usual. You had meetings to attend and training sessions to oversee-there was no time to be sick.
Jude watched you with increasing concern as you hurried around the apartment, trying to ignore your symptoms.
"Y/N, maybe you should stay home today," he suggested again, his voice laced with worry. "You look like you could use some rest."
You waved off his concern with a weak smile. "I'll be fine, Jude. It's just a cold. I can't afford to miss work today."
Jude sat up in bed, his expression earnest. "I know you're tough, but pushing yourself when you're sick won't do you any favors. Let me take care of you for a change."
You paused, torn between your determination and Jude's heartfelt plea. You sighed, knowing he had a point but not wanting to admit defeat. "I have so much to do today, Jude. I can't just stay home."
Reluctantly, Jude nodded, knowing from experience that you were fiercely independent and determined once you set your mind to something. "Okay, but promise me you'll take it easy," he said softly.
Hours later, you returned home earlier than expected, your face flushed and your eyes watery. You sank onto the couch with a defeated sigh, clutching a box of tissues.
"What." You sniffle, your eyebrows frowning.
"Nothing." Jude says with a glint of a smirk.
"Stop smiling." You respond
"I'm sorry, it's just i told you so."
Jude, seeing your exhausted state, moved closer and gently took the tissues from your hands. "Why don't you let me make you dinner tonight?" he suggested, his voice tinged with concern. "You've pushed yourself enough today."
You looked up at him with a stubborn glint in your eyes, still not fully willing to concede. "That actually sounds really nice," you admitted reluctantly, finally allowing yourself to relax.
Jude smiled warmly, relieved to see you starting to unwind. "I'll take care of everything. You just rest and recover," he said softly, knowing that even in your stubbornness, you trusted him to take care of you when you needed it most.
But now, he wasn't so sure. Ever since the World Cup he had begun to see a change in you. You were absent most days, granted he was in Madrid which didn't help, but even on days when you could have dinner together, your mind was always somewhere else.
He understood the pressure of being the world champions, the demands to make public appearances, but sometimes he wished that you hadn't won. Not because you didn't deserve it, but because it was taking a huge toll on you and there was very little he could do about it.
***********
Leah glanced over at you with a raised eyebrow as you took a breather during your training session at Arsenal's practice ground. You had been noticeably tense all morning, and Leah, her teammate and close friend, couldn't help but address the elephant in the room.
"Yeah, okay, but what's up with you two at the moment?" Leah asked bluntly, wiping sweat from her brow. "You keep picking at each other like cats in a sack."
You sighed, your frustration evident as you leaned against the goalpost. "It's just... we've been on edge lately. You know how Jude can be sometimes."
Leah nodded knowingly. "He's a good guy, but he can be a bit cheeky," she remarked, recalling a recent incident.
"Remember that comment he made last week? You were fuming."
You rolled her eyes, her irritation flaring again. "Yeah, and rightfully so. Sometimes he doesn't think before he speaks."
Leah gave you a sympathetic look. "Look, I get it. But you two have been solid for ages. Maybe it's just a rough patch.
You should talk it out."
You sighed heavily, running a hand through her sweaty hair.
"I know.. it's just been one thing after another. First the media frenzy, then family stuff, now this reality show nonsense he's pushing for. It's like we're not on the same page anymore."
Leah nodded in understanding. "Relationships take work, especially with all the craziness in your lives. But you guys are strong. Don't let a few bumps get in the way."
You nodded thoughtfully, grateful for Leah's perspective.
"You're right. I'll talk to him. Thanks, Leah."
Leah flashed you a reassuring smile. "Anytime. Now, let's finish this training strong. No distractions!"
With renewed determination, you and Leah resumed their training, focusing on their drills and pushing themselves to perform at their peak. The afternoon sun beat down on the training ground, casting long shadows as you ran through your routines.
As you practiced, you couldn't shake Leah's words from your mind. You knew Leah was right-you needed to address the tension with Jude before it escalated further but as much as you wanted to clear the air, doubts nagged at you.
Leah noticed your distracted demeanor and decided to lighten the mood. "Hey, Y/N, remember that game against Chelsea last season?" she asked with a grin.
You chuckled, grateful for the diversion. "Oh, don't remind me. That was a tough one."
"Yeah, but you scored that amazing goal in the last minute!" Leah exclaimed, mimicking the commentator's excitement.
"The look on their faces was priceless."
You laughed, the tension easing slightly. "Yeah, that was a good moment."
You continued your banter, reminiscing about past matches and sharing stories from your time on the pitch. Despite the weight of your conversation earlier, you found herself enjoying the camaraderie with Leah, grateful for her support.
You and Leah resumed their training drills at Arsenal's practice ground, your focus returning to the swift exchanges and precise footwork demanded on the pitch. The air was alive with the sound of coaches' instructions and the rhythmic thud of balls being kicked.
After a particularly intense sprint, you paused, a slight grimace crossing you face as she clutched her abdomen.
Leah, noticed this, her brow furrowing with worry. You had been training together for years, and Leah had noticed your occasional bouts of discomfort over the past few months, especially since the incident during the World Cup where you collapsed briefly.
Leah slowed her pace, coming alongside you. "Hey, Y/N," she began cautiously, "perhaps what I should be asking is, whats up with you lately?"
You sigh defeatedly, indicating to the pain in your stomach. "It's cramps. "They come and go, but they've been worse lately. It's stopping me from sleeping and making it hard to eat-"
Leah's expression softened with concern. "Since the World Cup?"
You nodded, avoiding Leah's gaze for a moment. "Yeah. It started then, but I didn't think much of it at first."
Leah frowned, her mind racing with possibilities. "Have you seen a doctor?"
You hesitated, her voice quieter now. "Not yet. l've been putting it off. I don't want it to be a big deal."
Leah shook her head gently. "Ah now i understand Jude's frustration recently. Y/N, your health is important. You can't keep ignoring this."
You sighed again, your frustration evident. "I know, I know. I just... I don't want it to affect my game, you know? And with everything else going on..."
Leah nodded sympathetically. "I get it. But you can't keep pushing yourself like this. Promise me you'll see someone soon?"
You met Leah's gaze, her resolve firming. "Yeah. I promise."
********
You stood in front of the mirror, smoothing down the fabric of your emerald green dress. The soft candlelight flickered around you, casting a warm glow in Jude's apartment. You had gone the extra mile tonight, not just with your appearance but also in preparing a special meal for Jude. As you heard the door open, you turned to see Jude entering the room.
"You look stunning," Jude said softly, a brief smile appearing on his face as he closed the door behind him.
"Thank you," you replied with a shy smile, feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation. "I thought we could use a quiet evening together. No cameras, no distractions just us!"
Jude nodded, his eyes lingering on you appreciatively. "It's perfect," he murmured, though his mind was still clouded with the tension between you.
You sat down to dinner, the delicious aroma filling the room as you exchanged polite conversation about work and football. Jude was keen to lighten the mood, steering the conversation towards a recent match.
"So, what did you think of our performance against Barcelona?" Jude asked, taking a sip of wine.
You smiled, grateful for the change in topic. "I thought you guys played brilliantly in the second half. That goal you scored was top-notch."
Jude grinned, a hint of pride in his voice. "Thanks. It was a tough match, but we pulled through."
As you continued discussing tactics and upcoming fixtures, Jude noticed how you winced slightly every now and then, how you seemed to sit more rigidly than usual.
"You seem a bit off tonight," Jude remarked gently, reaching across the table to take your hand. "Is everything okay?"
You hesitated, your gaze flickering away for a moment.
"Yeah, just tired from the week, I guess," you replied, forcing a smile.
Jude searched your eyes, sensing there was more you weren't saying. "You know you can talk to me, right?" he said softly. "I'm here for you."
You nodded, grateful for his understanding, but unable to voice your worries just yet. The conversation shifted back to lighter topics, but the tension lingered between you.
After you finished your meal, Jude cleared the dishes while you tidied up the table. You could feel the pain in your abdomen intensifying, a relentless throb that seemed to squeeze your insides like a vice. You tried to push through it, not wanting to spoil the evening.
Jude glanced over at you, concern etched on his face.
"Damn it, y/n" Jude's voice echoed through the kitchen, frustration and worry pouring out in a torrent. "How can we be together if you won't let me in? Do you even trust me?"
You froze, your heart sinking at the raw honesty in his words.
You knew he was right, knew you had been keeping him at arm's length out of fear and stubbornness.
"I made dinner tonight to try to change this, but we keep arguing," you retorted, your voice tinged with frustration and hurt.
"You keep doing this to yourself, y/n!" Jude's voice cracked with emotion, his frustration palpable. "Pushing yourself until you can't anymore. Why won't you let me help you?"
You looked up at him through tear-filled eyes, your face contorted with pain. "I'm sorry," you managed to say, your voice barely above a whisper. "I didn't want to ruin tonight. I just wanted one night... ONE night where it wasn't about how I was feeling. I wanted to celebrate you-."
Jude takes a sigh, loading a couple of dishes into the dishwasher before turning back over to you. "And this is surely the best way to celebrate me- being quiet and constantly wincing in pain-."
"No- !" You try to finish your sentence before the pain pulls you down, you stabilise yourself on the edge of the table, dropping a fork on the ground. A annoyed sigh leaves your body, as you attempt to pick up the fork. Jude glances over, reminding himself, that despite how stupid you could be, he still cared about you.
Jude turned around at the sound of your stifled sob, his annoyance quickly giving way to concern as he saw you doubled over in agony. Without a word, he crossed the kitchen in quick strides, his heart pounding with worry.
As he glances over, he see's your weak body, attempting to keep you from falling down. Jude's expression softened, guilt washing over him as he realised how much you had been hiding from him. As he saw your body give way, he closed the distance between you, gently taking your arm to support you.
"Hospital. Now," Jude said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
You nodded weakly, clutching his hand tightly as you hurried out the door, the weight of your unspoken fears finally giving way to a shared resolve to confront whatever lay ahead.

(from my rando's POV) GRRM feels a bit like he's in a Lucy-with-the-football situationâa non-insignificant part of S2 was filmed w/o writers due to the strike, was two episodes short prob b/c of said strike, and the HBO-Disney megazord doesn't pick showrunners of franchise shows for their creative talent or desire to honor the material, they pick them for their ability to Get Stuff Done In A Profitable Manner, so. Idk, I dunno what he was expecting with S2?
(this isn't saying S2 crit is invalid or that he shouldn't be upset, but some of this WAS foreseeable? Maybe I'm missing something)
idk I have seen amazing HBO adaptations (personal faves inc. My Brilliant Friend, Patrick Melrose, etc) so I think GRRM could well have had high expectations the second time round. and I do think S1 was good; there were parts I didn't like, but I would say more of it I did. they navigated most of the changes pretty gracefully, and I was a huge fan of the change they made to Alicent and Rhaenyra's relationship.
so I don't know why they fumbled S2 so badly. I found watching Alicent and Rhaenyra this season a lot like watching Tyrion in S5 onwards - they're so stagnant, they keep repeating the same things over and over, they're never truly unlikeable and they always mean well.... like strike or not I thought they were setting up for something so much more interesting in S1, but by S2 the writers just seemed to lose courage and started walking back their most interesting work. even with the strike and HBO hacking the tail of their season off, it feels like they didn't even know how to fill the time they had left.
i know GRRM's blog post specifically concerns butterfly effects rather than the execution of what did make it to the show, but I think the absence of characters like Maelor is plainer for the uninspired writing on Helaena in the rest of the season. in S1 they were taking the gaps in F&B and filling them with interesting detail, so I think then it was easy for GRRM to forgive compromises he didn't like. now HOTD is tearing gaps in itself and expects everyone to ignore them, so omissions like Maelor feel more egregious to him, bc at least they add SOMETHING.
i do feel kind of confused on what to feel now though. on the one hand it is hilarious to me that GRRM was this messy, otoh the haterism is so strong in fandom that im.... genuinely a little worried for the writing team lol. im starting to think the biggest problem they faced with this show was the scale. they were trying to write something good but i get the impression that the focus ended up being more on budget and logistics than the story itself. i don't think that's an excuse for everything but i do think if i were them i would feel extremely demoralised and defensive rn. and after all it's not really a sin to write mid tv

I am so so so charmed by your Seresin twins universe. Do you have more thoughts on what they were like in high school? I love your idea of Jake standing up for Tyler (behind his back, of course), if you feel like fleshing that out in a full fic...
Thanks for sharing all your head canons and stories with us -- I can't wait to read more!! đđ
You got me giggling and kicking my feet, Iâm so happy youâre enjoying my au â€ïžâ€ïž
You keep thinkinâ that youâll never get burnt
The two times Jake defended Tyler with his fists.
Note: I really suck at writing trash talk oh my goddess, I canât be mean in for the life of me even when writing.
Warnings: foul language, bullying, physical violence
Song: These Boots Are Made For Walkinâ - Nancy Sinatra
The first time it happened was during freshman year, in P.E. class, in the locker room. Jake had just finished the final day of the track unit. The locker room was buzzing with the usual post-exercise energy. Jake and Tyler didnât have any classes together, the school knowing better than to but them in the same room.
As Jake was changing, he overheard a conversation between a couple of students he didnât recognize.
âWhatâs his name? Seresin? Tyler? Jakeâs brother, right?â one of them asked, curiosity lacing their voice.
The mention of Tyler was enough to catch Jakeâs attention. He turned slightly, trying to gauge the tone of the conversation.
âYeah, thatâs him. I heard heâs a dirt eater. My buddy saw him at the rodeo on Saturday,â another voice chimed in, followed by a few snickers. âI think heâs a little...â
Jake slammed his locker shut, a sharp prick of anger under his skin. The casual mockery of Tyler, especially about something as hard-earned as the rodeo, stung deeply. So what if Tyler had taken a few falls? He was just starting out this seasonâhe wasnât going to be perfect right away.
Jakeâs hands clenched into fists as he turned toward the group. âYou donât know what youâre talking about,â he said, his voice tight with controlled fury. âTylerâs working hard and getting better.â
Jake stood firm, ready to defend his brotherâs honor. The one making the comment was an upperclassman, his face smeared with cocky arrogance. He raised an eyebrow at Jake, clearly unfazed.
âOh yeah? I say the next rodeo he gets his head stomped on. Maybe thatâll teach him,â the upperclassman taunted.
In a flash of rage, Jake grabbed the kid and slammed him hard against the lockers. The upperclassmanâs head hit the metal with a sharp clang. âYou shut up!â Jake growled, his voice a low, menacing roar.
The room went dead silent, the other students recoiling in shock. Jakeâs anger was raw and unrestrained, his actions a clear message that he wouldnât tolerate any more disrespect towards his brother.
Jake shoved him once more before storming out of the locker room.
The second time was the one and only time Tyler saw it.
It was Wednesday, fourth period passing time, and Jake was leaning against his friendâs locker while his buddies chatted. He noticed Tyler walking down the hall, animatedly discussing something. Jake followed his brother with his eyes until Tyler disappeared from view.
Jake would never admit it, but he was fiercely protective of his twin. He often noticed the irritated looks and whispered comments directed at Tyler, mostly because of his enthusiastic interest in science.
"God, Tyler never shuts up," Ryan, a teammate from the football team, complained beside him.
"Iâm not sure which is worseâlistening to him talk about science or just hearing him at all," added Declan, another friend.
âIt sucks that you live with him, Jake. I think Iâd rather throw myself off a bridge than be his brother,â Ryan joked, and the others laughed.
Jake was not usually prone to violence. Even if he was seething with rage heâd never engage physical aggression. But Ryanâs comment ignited a fierce anger in him. Jake cherished having a twin, someone who was always there to listen and support him. The thought of being without Tyler was unsettling.
âWhat?â Jake asked, his voice tight with restrained emotion.
âYeah! Câmon, Jake, heâs fucking annoying. All he does is talk and take up space. Sure, heâs good at the local rodeo, but heâs a fuckingââ
Ryan didnât get to finish his sentence. Jake dropped his books and threw a punch so hard that Ryan stumbled into the lockers on the opposite side of the hallway. Declan, who had been standing close by, received the same treatment.
The crowd in the hall quickly parted, forming a circle around the commotion, their murmurs hushed in shock.
âSay that again, you son of a bitch!â Jake roared, his voice raw with fury. He lunged for Ryan again, his hand grabbing at Ryanâs shirt, his other fist swinging back, knuckles smeared with the blood from Ryanâs nose.
Jakeâs fury was unrestrained; Tyler was far from a waste of spaceâhe was everything Ryan and Declan were not. Without waiting for a response, Jake landed another punch. The crowd erupted into chaos, and a few teachers rushed to intervene.
Eventually, two teachers managed to drag Jake away, his kicks and curses directed at Ryan and Declan as he struggled. His fists were bruised and bloodied, evidence of the intense anger he felt.
Jakeâs gaze found Tyler amidst the throng of students, his twinâs eyes wide with shock but also with an unexpected smile. Even as everyone around them tried to piece together what had happened, Tylerâs smile shone through. Then, Tyler let out a laugh that was swallowed by the commotion, but Jake caught it. Grinning wildly, Jake noticed the blood in in his teeth, a mark of the punch Ryan had landed on him. The notion fueled Jakeâs satisfaction even as he was restrained, he chalked another win.

I wound up forgetting to do a dialogue prompt, but hereâs a hand kiss and the start of a new AU for you, nonny!

Steve is still not a party kind of guy. He never has been, not even when he and Bucky were in elementary school and his mom was asking him what he wanted to do for his birthday (the answer had always been pizza and a movie, and not just because money was usually tight for them). If Steve had had his way, he would have happily gone his entire college career without going to a single party, let alone one of the ones thrown on Frat Row.
But Bucky is living in one of those frat houses, and heâd put in a ton of effort into planning this party, and then all the rest of the guys on the football team had started razzing him over not wanting to go. Apparently the quarterback should make an appearance at at least one party each year, especially after the kind of successful season theyâd had. Steve doesnât remember that rule when heâd been scouted, and heâd been planning on saying so, but Bucky really had worked hard to plan it. So heâd told himself to suck it up, told Bucky that he would only be there for an hour (he was here to study, after all, not party), and made an appearance.
Heâs regretting it now that he sees who all had been invited.
Steveâs college is technically an alpha-exclusive institution. But itâs been open to betas for almost fifty years. What itâs not open to is omegas. That honor would belong to the omega-exclusive university all the way on the other side of the city. And fraternization between the two universities is strictly forbidden. Itâs an outdated rule put in place in this backwards town to protect unmated omegas, and frankly, Steve wouldnât care about the rule at all (itâs patronizing to say the least given everyone comes of age at the same time) but getting caught with an unmated omega carries a hefty fine that Steve canât afford and possible jail time for the alpha involved.
He doesnât know who had invited the omegas (it certainly wasnât Bucky, whoâd looked panicked when Steve had shown up a few minutes ago), but heâd like to have words with them about taking risks when theyâre not the ones whoâll get in trouble.
He escapes into the kitchen for a breather to escape the pheromones his classmates are putting out. The freezer stands as a cool beacon, and he wrenches open the door and sticks his head in, greedily sucking in lungfuls of the clean, frigid air. Thatâs better. Heâs only been here for a few minutes, and heâs already wondering how soon he can talk Bucky into leaving his fratmates to their fates should the cops get called.
âSmell that bad, huh?â
The question startles him enough that he jerks upright, only to bang his head against the top of the freezer. Steve hisses through his teeth, hand rubbing at the spot where heâs sure a bruise will form. His mom always said he was hardheaded but it sure doesnât feel like it right now.
âOoh thatâs gonna be a bad one,â the voice says sympathetically. Steve feels a hand cupping his chin, turning him back into the light. Itâs only then that he realizes the blackberries and cream heâs been smelling since he walked into the kitchen isnât from some dessert in the fridge, but from the prettiest omega heâs ever seen, whoâs now fretting over his forehead like itâs a broken arm.
âItâs fine,â he says hoarsely, his hand coming up to catch the one tracing his hairline. The omega sucks in a breath, whiskey brown eyes going wide, and Steve abruptly realizes that heâs touching an omega. Scrambling for a way to salvage the situation before he gets himself thrown in a cell for the night, he falls back on what his mom taught him when he meets a new omega:
He lowers the omegaâs hand to his mouth and kisses the back of it.
The omegaâs hand is soft under his lips though his fingertips are surprisingly calloused against his own. The omega completely stills, red lips parting ever so slightly. Oh fuck, Steve realizes. His gesture is perfectly acceptable (if a little old-fashioned) back home in New York, but in this tiny town in New England? And he has no idea where the omega lives when theyâre not at college, if itâs as liberal as New York or as conservative as this town, andâ
âWoah there, alpha!â the alarmed omega exclaims. âThereâs nothing to worry about here. Weâre all friends, right?â
âI donât even know your name,â Steve points out.
To Steveâs confusion, the omega says, âYou donât know my name?â
Steve blinks at him. âShould I?â
The omegaâs scent turns sweet with shy pleasure. âNo, I guess not. Itâs Tony. Tony Stark.â
And, oh, Steve does know that name. He couldnât grow up in New York and not know it. Howard Starkâs wild omega son, caught in flagrante with two alphas at his old college earlier this year and sent somewhere âstricter,â according to his dad, where they would curb his unhealthy urges. Steve and his mom had had plenty of discussions about parental abuse of omegas and how it was socially acceptable after the conservative media applauded the elder Starkâs decision.
Tony is watching him anxiously, clearly waiting for the other penny to drop. Well, Steve is contrary by nature, and even if he wasnât, he would never judge an omega by their choices. The only reason heâs even concerned tonight is because of the potential consequences, not because theyâre here at all.
âIâm Steve,â he says staunchly. âSteve Rogers. Pleasure to meet you, Tony.â
Tonyâs mouth tilts up in a crooked smile thatâs suddenly the most tempting thing Steve has ever seen. âNice to meet you too, Steve. I think weâre going to get along just fine.â
Steve grins helplessly back at him. âLike a house on fire,â he agrees ruefully. Tony throws his head back and laughs, and aw hell, Steve thinks. A whole ninety seconds to completely smitten is probably a new record for him. Bucky is never going to let him live it down.

Say My Name ( Bernard the elf x Reader)
Part 1 of Naughty or nice series, Smut next chapter, 18 +, Nsfw, Brat reader, afab reader, she/her reader pronouns
Summary: You decide to skip out on work and mess with your favorite head elf.
The snowy village was peaceful as you sat outside the small cocoa cafe waiting for your drink. You loved this blissful moment in the last moments of November before the holiday season swept everyone into a frenzy. From your spot you can see the front of the workshop, plenty of elves coming and going with a few loitering outside in groups planning their game of tinsel football. A few shops also had some elves bringing out their big Christmas decorations out early to start prepping. It was calm and happy, no stress yet with all the hope and excitement of the month to come. This moment was special and warmed your heart. A moment you doubted the others even noticing it happening every year like clockwork.
The calm was a nice ritual but is only one reason why you snuck out of your office. You knew here soon it would be too busy for you or any other elf to be anything less than perfect at your jobs. So one last opportunity to hopefully mess around with the very busy head elf you loved to tease was the top priority right now.
You take in the calm while you can though, knowing sooner rather than later he will come find you. The waitress comes by delivering your cocoa and you take a moment to admire the whipped cream and sprinkled mug before taking a sip. The cocoa warmed your veins, sugar giving you the energy youâll need here shortly. Then you heard his voice clear as a bell from across the square.
âNot now, Curtis!â
Looking up you spot him charging down the steps of the workshop, head flicking frantically side to side as Curtis ran alongside him, desperately trying to keep up. Curtis spots you first and freezes to watch this play out, quickly giving up whatever purpose he needed Bernard for. You watch with your head resting on your palm until you see the head elf himself freeze as he spun around and catches your gaze from across the way. You reach your other hand up to give a simple wave and a cheeky grin, which is all he needed to push himself out of his trance as he continues his path over to you.
âYouâre supposed to be working, not drinking coffee, does Santa pay you to drink coffee?â He says sarcastically after he stopped his march and crossed his arms.
âOh, hey Bartholomew.â You toss to the side without taking your eyes away from the beautiful whipped cream towered mug in front of you.
âBernard.â He spit out with a curt click of his teeth. âYou have several reports I have yet to see on my desk, and you didnât request a break. So you need to stop drinking your coffee and Get. To. Work.â
You smirked to yourself, taking a short sip of your mug letting the tall tower of whip cream coat your upper lip and skin. You loved riling him up, and it was so easy to do with him. His eyes scrunched up, his voice cracked with the volume he reached sometimes, and his cheeks became flushed the angrier he got. You had a tiny tree you decorated in his honor on your work desk with each little bobble a different shade of red for each stage of his anger.
âDonât get your stockings in a twist there Bernie.â You smiled before turning to face him. Your chest always bubbled in excitement when you see him in his usual grumpy stance with hands on his hips. Maybe it was the look in his eyes, or you wanted a new red ornament to adorn your tree to commemorate another special memory between the two of you, but you knew you were going to try to push him to his limits today.
âAnd you do know itâs hot chocolate not coffee right? You should really get those old eyes of yours checked out.â You finished with licking up the whip cream before letting your tongue drag slowly back inside your mouth.
Your cheeks burned with happiness watching his eyes narrow in on your action, his face flaring a shade darker, and chest rising with deep breaths that flared his nostrils. Your whole body already wanted to celebrate but you had to keep it cool to push him to his breaking point. So much restless energy flowed through you already that you have to push it all down to wiggling your toes excitedly inside your plush boots.
âMy name is Bernard, we have known each other for centuries, and we are the exact same age.â He grinds out once more, voice raising in pitch. âYou will give me the production and quality reports I need by the end of today or else Y/N.â
âOr else what, Baxter?â You beamed up at him, realizing that he has inched closer to you and now towers over your sitting form.
âFor the love of snowballs its Bernard! You need to get back to work, respect your superior elf by calling me my correct name, or I will bring you straight to Santa and let him deal with you.â He starts leaning down to get in your space.
You watched as the light snowfall collected on his hat, tips of his ears, and nose. Your own nose tickled at the soft minty breath that fanned across your face as he spoke, it warmed your heart a bit more knowing he indulged in some candy canes in secret today. You have caught him in the past hiding around corners to have his candy breaks, scrambling to hide the evidence whenever you jumped out.
Your breath always hitched a bit whenever he heated up like this and you craved it. This was still just a small altercation and you couldnât wait to push and push until he popped like a jack in the box.
âMake meâ You quickly stuck a finger into the mug and scooped a bit of the whipped cream before smashing it into his nose and dragging the cream covered digit down his lips, chin, and neck. âBarney.â
âFor Frostyâs sake!â He snaps before roughly grabbing your waist and with a surprising amount of strength that makes you yelp, he pulls you over his shoulder.
âJeez calm down Blaine, and theres really no need to drag Frosty into this, the poor snowball has been through enough.â You chirp as he bounces you along through town towards the workshop. Despite all the fun youâre having, you still take the opportunity to hide in his curly hair to avoid the stares of all the other elves. The younger ones were drawing more attention to you with their snickers and oooâs. Most are acclimated to this sort of reaction when the two of you are involved together but with the war path he carves through the snow paved town they knew you were being nothing short of naughty.
âIsnât Santa supposed to be gone taking Ms. Claus on a trip before the holiday season?â You mutter out, anything to distract yourself from the knot in your stomach. Every part of your skin tingled like frost in the way his arm wrapped around your waist, fingers kneading into your stomach. His other hand clung to one of your legs just above the knee to keep you from fleeing or kicking.
âHe got back this morning and has had plenty of time to unpack. Now he can deal with you.â He grounds out, voice evident of his growing frustration.
âJolly old Nick loves me Bailey! That big old softy canât even hammer a toy correctly in fear of breaking it.â You yelp out an oof as he jostles you around roughly at yet another nickname youâve presented.
âLuckily as top elf I can and will break it as long as I have his expressed permission to do so.â His hand flexes around your leg once more, sliding a bit more up the leg as he tries to get a better grip with your wiggling.
Your thighs instinctively clenched and your gut was pulsing from the way he grabbed onto you. You were faced once again to acknowledge the slight crush youâve been harboring for centuries. Your mind is running laps in this close moment, nose being overwhelmed with his slight cinnamon scent as he pulls you through the workshop. You no longer care about the stares as your mind drifts off to fantasize and think about the surprisingly strong elf carrying you.
Youâre more than guilty for stirring up trouble for him just to have the chance to speak to him. Although you report to him its usually just a brief moment of contact before he zooms off to be the strict, serious, and hardworking head elf he takes prides in being. The more you teased him, skipped out on work, and lead him on a series of chases meant the more time you got to spend with him.
You prided yourself a bit on helping him earn his strict reputation, most of the elves being scared straight just by seeing his most strict moments when he reprimanded you. He wasnât just a hard gumball all the time though. He only gets so worked up because he cares, more than any elf you ever met, about Christmas. His bossiness just came with a deep need of it all to go right but you could always see the care behind his actions despite his angry tones and fell more in love every time.
Even with your bratty elf behavior he always gave you a beautifully wrapped gift every year. Always hand made and always perfect. Whatever current hobby you indulge in, books you are reading, or food you craved he always got something completely perfect for you. You hoped it was a small sign he didnât truly harbor any frosty feelings towards you.
Your mind started twisting from nice to naughty fairly quick the more his hands squeezed. Now most of your wiggling was to shake away the tingling need begging for attention which only caused him to squeeze more.
Suddenly he pulled you back to the ground right in front of âthe big mansâ ornate wooden door. Your heart clenched as his hands pulled away from your hips, your dreaming hazed state hoping it wasnât just you imagining his fingers lingering for a moment. You didnât have to endure the madness of his skin leaving yours though, as he quickly wraps his hand around your wrist and leans down to stare you in your eyes.
âYou have been acting up nearly every day the past month so you are going to go in there and tell him everything you have done.â He clipped through some heavy huffs most likely from caring you the whole way.
âYou donât have to talk to me like Iâm 200 and why do I have to be the one to tell him?â
âBecause Iâm head elf and my seniority means you have to listen to everything I tell you to do.â The more he bosses you around the more your mind clouds with dirty thoughts of listening to some different commands from him.
Without giving him a response you knock on the door and walk in with the call of puppets screaming to enter. You quickly bounce in as nice as sugar, twirling the bells adorning your skirt, and toss a wave towards Santa. Bernard marches in and stands tall right in front of Santaâs desk, ready to exert his rank. You happily slide up next to him and give him a small jab of your elbow.
âUh oh.â The puppets immediately call seeing you and Bernard enter, causing Santa to laugh brightly.
âOh Ho Ho, its never a good sign that both of you are here.â Santa chuckled, sparing a glance at Bernard and raising his eyebrows at the state the elf was in. âSo what squabble brings the two of you here again?â
âIâve been nothing but Jolly to him I swear Santa.â You smile brightly before leaning in. âAnd can I just say that you look positively glowing with that tan. We should put you at the top of the tree this year.â
âRednoser.â Bernards quickly coughs out before looking to the side and up.
âCarol killer.â You snip back at him just as quickly under your breath.
âBlizzard boxâ He shoots back.
âTinsel tool!â You raise your voice as you both continue slinging insults.
âToy Twat!â He pivots his view from Santa to stare you down.
âStocking sniffer!â
Both of you start raising your voices in unison, throwing insults and yelling every thought that can cram its way out of your throats. The volume in the room triples as the puppets start mimicking your fighting and start smacking each other with rolling pins.
âHey stop it, everyone stop right now!â Santaâs voice cuts through, lacking any real bite but filled with exasperation. Every one takes a moment to collect themselves as Santa stares at both of you while rubbing a hand through his beard.
âOh boy, those were some new ones. I really hope the younger elves donât hear those.â Santa hums to himself quietly for a bit in contemplation before sighing and leaning back in his chair.
You shoot a quick glance at Bernard a shoot him a smirk as Santa makes a series of contemplating noises as he rubs his temples.
âBernard do I really have to deal with this, I just got back and havenât even taken my boots off, and I need to check on Mrs. Clause.â Santa huffs out in a plea.
âOf course not Santa, I just need your permission to deal with her.â Bernard easily slips back into his head boy pose.
âAlright but itâs officially Christmas season and I really need you both to work together so please go easy on her. Oh and go somewhere private, I donât need the rest of the elves distracted by your boxing match or to hear your colorful language.â He ends with a chuckle.
âOf course, thank you very much Santa.â Bernard quickly nods and grabs your hand before pulling you out with him.
âAnd Y/N donât try to shove a snowball down his pants again!â Santa calls out quickly.
âNo promises!â You shout back before stumbling to keep up with Bernards pace.
The march to presumably his office is quiet besides the thud of shoes on the floor as he pulls you down hallways. His silent anger was frightening you just a bit so you decided to poke the bear a bit more for a reaction that would end this silence.
âBrad you really need to slow down!â
His grip on your hand tightens but for now he keeps quiet.
âYou heard Kringle, you should be nice to me. I think your heart may be two sizes too small Ben.â
Again no response and the silence was starting to gnaw at you. You were desperate to be acknowledged by him, anything was better than silence.
âBill? Did you hear me?â Nothing, the fear and guilt start climbing your throat.
âBob?â Your hands are getting sweaty.
âBenedict!â You finally scream while taking note of how fast your approaching his office door.
âSon of a nutcracker!â He finally screams out, yanking open his door and pulling you in quickly.
âYou know my name Y/N! You snarky sarcastic sadistic snowflake! We have know each other over 1,000 years and you still donât call me, your superior, by my proper name!â
You relished in a brief moment of happiness when he spoke again but it quickly corrupted to a warmth spreading through you again as he paced in front of you. Every time he spared a glance in between each turn of pace his eyes bore into your own, melting away your resolve and making your legs shift under his gaze.
As he slowed his pacing down he leaned back against the wall, breathing deeply as he glared at you. Every muscle in his body looked tense as he awaited whatever snarky comment you were constructing in your mind. Usually your quick wit would take over but your eyes stayed glued to his teeth gnawing on his lip. You sat back against his desk unable to speak, pushing yourself up to sit on the flat surface.
After a few moments he pushed off the wall and approached you, step by step. Finally his legs stopped a breath away from your knees, so close the fabric of his pants brushed past your skin as he shifted his weight back and forth. He breaths out a huff, lowering his eyes to be at level with your own, and boxes you in with his hands resting at either side of your thighs.
Your lungs ceased working, time froze as you waited for him to talk. Youâre left with endless amount of time focusing on how cold the room suddenly felt, goosebumps pricking your skin and air bubbles clogging the back of your throat. Your pelvic floor was clenching and it caused a pressure too sharp and needy for you to handle, and youâre quickly trying to unclench and relax.
âWhat do I have to do to get you to respect me?â His voice came out low, frustrated, and coarse.
Before you knew you even opened your mouth, the words tumbled from your lips. âMake me.â
